Ilhan Omar’s Race-Based Marxist Demagoguery Based on Lies

Here’s a big surprise. The race-based Marxist demagoguery projectile vomited by Islamocongresscritter Ilhan Omar turns out to be based on lies:

The Washington Post reports that Omar was speaking to an audience of 400 high school students when she told of visiting a Minneapolis courtroom, where she witnessed a “sweet, old … African American lady” who spent the weekend in jail for stealing a $2 loaf of bread to feed her “starving 5-year-old granddaughter.” After the woman was fined $80 for the crime, Omar said she couldn’t control her emotions and yelled, “Bulls–t!” in the courtroom.

“Omar’s story echoed the plot of ‘Les Miserables.’ If true, it is also probably embellished,” wrote Washington Post reporters Greg Jaffe and Souad Mekhennet. “City officials said that police aren’t allowed to arrest people for shoplifting unless there’s a likelihood of violence or further crime. Typically, shoplifters are sentenced to attend a three-hour class.”

Not to mention, no one has to steal to feed hungry relatives in America. It is much easier to let the government do it for them.

When called on her malicious lies, Omar resorted to the familiar faulty memory defense:

“I’m not sure. . . . The details might not have all matched, but that’s what I remember.”

She also recently proclaimed that 45% of military families rely on food stamps. Although liberals have deliberately made it easier to qualify so that even people who don’t need assistance will get hooked on the free government cheese, the actual number is under 5%.

In support of the liberal attack on our constitutional rights, she shrieked that 500 people die of gun violence per day. The actual number for the USA in 2017 was one-fifth of that; most of these deaths were suicides.

But getting caught in these malevolent lies doesn’t matter. Even on the rare occasions that the media exposes them, the impression on Democrat voters that America is cruel to put-upon minorities and therefore must be replaced with a more tender-hearted system like they have in Venezuela remains.

Coming from a Somali refugee who is only here due to America’s suicidal altruism, Omar’s smears are particularly galling. But it would be foolish to expect gratitude.
