36th Street Manhattan is the entrance street into the Queens Midtown Tunnel which takes you to Long Island and the major International Airports. Last evening, during the blackout, the police ascended and obstructed the street preventing cars from proceeding as they stopped and search the cars. Will we find out sometime in the near future that important files were removed from vaults during the blackout and the chaos that ensued? Whose files, if at all? Perhaps the transformer explosion was a diversion? Pure speculation and a bona-fide conspiracy theory for now, but too many coincidences in one night fuels my curiosity. Correction on your report…the blackout did not affect lower Manhattan, it affected only the Westside of Midtown Manhattan from the 70′s down to 42nd Street Times Square area and from Fifth Ave to 9th or beyond. I live in New York and 36th Street where the police activity took place and several avenues east of Times Square.
