Billionaire Big Tech investor Peter Thiel floats two possible explanations for Google helping the military of our Chinese rivals to acquire breakthrough artificial intelligence technology (while refusing to work with the US military):

• Google is afraid China would acquire the technology anyway through illicit means.

• Google is a cult of leftists who will reflexively side with a nominally communist totalitarian country against their own out of sheer moonbattery.

One of these explanations makes sense, in light of Google’s well-established record of extreme moonbattery.
