Your math is still good but you omitted 2 factors. Technology and consent. Technology: in all previous conflicts civil or other there has NEVER been a class division with this particular impact. 100 years ago even a half wit could run the most complex machines with a little training. Thus the “rebel” could actually control production. These days 99% of the population could not produce enough usable energy to power a flashlight for more than an hour. Could they run a power station or gas cracking facility? Not a chance. Thus comes the consent part: As the actual use of technology is out of reach of all but trained specialists the power to stop any foolishness is self-imposed. How do you have a “socialist revolution” when you do not even understand the means of production? Second, there is no wealth to capture and redistribute. Our economy does not have enough gold or diamonds or other portable wealth to give away. It all exists electronically or in non-portable assets. The consent part comes in because all these fringe groups can only exist because of the massive surplus of wealth they live off of being provided by their parents or the government. What happens when it stops? There are no assets to seize beyond what might be on someone’s estate which a rabble would use up in a day. There are no factories to occupy which they would have the slightest ability to run. There are virtually ZERO products in use today that do not contain components from inaccessible sources like China or India. In other words this war will be won by literally doing nothing. Even Google for all its power and monopolies is literally as useless as a human brain without a body. Google might provide software or hardware for production but honestly not one person there could milk an actual cow let alone build a car, or lamp or functional toilet So far the actual net energy producers have tolerated the foolishness of the ivory tower scholars and the leftists in politics. One day when they get to uppity they’ll call for a plumber or a replacement ball point pen and the answer will be “No!” Game over.

The argument that is being used is the exact same one AOC is using for her concentration camps comment. Take a word and use the technical and most broad definition. The reason you are using a technical definition is to be able to justify using a word that has historic connotations. To speak to what I mean about the bad intent of using the word. If its a civil war but its not like THE civil war, why not use one of the many many other terms to define it? High political tension could take the place of the term civil war. Using the term is to call people back to its colloquial definition with the historical context as part of that package. I don’t think the lone wolf thing is good for anyone, everyone needs counter points to be checked and to stay on task.
