Fox Mulder's X-Files versus the CIA's X Files
The CIA put together a nifty roundup of now declassified documents about UFOs, its own “X Files”, ranging from specific cases to internal memos to opinionated essays. From reading these many documents, a point of view does come across – that while UFOs are real and have posed a real threat to American air craft in the past (“foo fighters”), most reports of UFOs are misguided and distracting and don’t contribute anything to to the greater good.
However, the CIA ends with a detailed and surprisingly reasonable article instructing its readers on “How to investigate a flying saucer,” with 11 steps, summed up as:
