The Chinese are making some of the best tools and musical instruments money can buy.
The only reason their stuff is cheaper is because they don’t have preferred stockholders and CEOs making gazillions of bucks.
The only time the Chinese make shit is if someone sends them plans for shit. American companies get over by designing shit, having the Chinese make it, then blaming the Chinese for it being shit.
The Chinese make exactly what they are contracted to. If you buy something Chinese that was designed by the Chinese, you won’t find a better product.
The Chinese have done exactly what the Japanese did in the 70s and 80s. They marketed cheap easy to build products then poured their profits back into the company to make better products. That is why Honda started out making pregnant roller skates and inside of 10 years were blowing the big 3 off the map.
Asians want to build reputation and pride. Americans want to see how much insane wealth they can accumulate.

That 70 year old spatula is something the Chinese could replicate as if it were a clone, and would do so if contracted by an american corporation to do so. But american corporations will not do that, they would far rather have something made that needs replaced as soon as the warranty is expired.

The government has no business having involvement in media, and we need the return of the Fairness Doctrine which would guarantee , as it did until the 80s, that the media has no reason for political bias in any direction.
