Bernie Sanders Hires Hugo Chavez Booster as Adviser

Bernie Sanders is no stranger to fluffing for murderous socialists, as his past praise of the Soviet Union shows, and that apparently means he’s got no problem hiring people who fluff for them either.

The Washington Examiner reports on his latest hire for his 2020 campaign.

A left-wing journalist just added to the staff of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., once celebrated Hugo Chavez’s leadership in Venezuela, claiming that “his brand of socialism achieved real economic gains.”

The Sanders campaign announced Tuesday morning that David Sirota would be joining as a communications adviser and speechwriter, further solidifying Sanders as the socialist alternative in a growing field of 2020 candidates.

In 2013, Sirota wrote a lengthy defense for Slate on Chavez’s reign in Venezuela shortly after the dictator’s death, which he called an “economic miracle.”

An economic miracle indeed. In reality, Chavez set into motion a series of events that have led to the complete destruction of Venezuela as a functioning society. In fact, as soon as a year after Sirota published his piece praising the dictator and socialism, the country started slamming up against the rocks of reality as inflation rose and conflicts heated up. Just three years later, inflation hit 141% and even Bernie’s precious breadlines couldn’t feed the people.

“It’s funny, sometimes American journalists talk about how bad a country is, that people are lining up for food. That is a good thing! In other countries people don’t line up for food: the rich get the food and the poor starve to death,” Sanders said at the time.

There’s nothing else to call that but moronic. Today, now in total ruin, Venezuela suffers from widespread blackouts, starving children, and an collapsing medical care system.

But you see, socialism just hasn’t been done properly they’ll say. Nonsense. It fails everywhere it’s tried for a reason. It’s a garbage system that ignores the realities of human nature. There’s a reason it always leads to dictatorship and misery.

Despite this reality, Sirota thought he’d finally found the unicorn back in 2013.

“When, by contrast, a country goes socialist and its economy does what Venezuela’s did, it is not perceived to be a laughing matter — and it is not so easy to write off or to ignore. It suddenly looks like a threat to the corporate capitalism, especially when said country has valuable oil resources that global powerhouses like the United States rely on,” Sirota wrote…

…”And in a United States that has become more unequal than many Latin American nations, are there any constructive lessons to be learned from Chavez’s grand experiment with more aggressive redistribution?” Sirota asked.

Sirota confuses equality of misery as superior to the United States’ economic system of prosperity, where yes, there are very rich, but even the lower middle class are far better off than everywhere else in the world. Would you rather have $100,000 and your neighbor have $1,000,000 or would you rather you both have $10,000? Socialists don’t understand that, instead seeing it as innately unfair. In reality, socialism is just another excuse for tyrants to consolidate power.

The United States does not need “fixing.” It doesn’t need a new system. Anyone who suggests that we dismantle the greatest driver of prosperity the world has ever seen and adopt a system that’s failed continuously throughout history should immediately be disqualified from the Presidency. But it’s 2020, so if you are a Democrat, it earns you media accolades and higher poll numbers. Nothing makes sense anymore.

Bernie Sanders may look like a harmless old man, but his ideas are outright dangerous. History has proven that over and over. Hiring someone like Sirota just further speaks to how unserious of a person he is and how insane his ideology truly is. JFK and Reagan must be rolling over in their graves. Despite being lauded by different sides of the aisle, they both recognized the evils of socialism and sought to defeat it.

Now, just a half century later, you’ve got morons like Bernie Sanders, who’s never held a real job in his life, bouncing around talking about the joys of bread lines and promoting ideals that would make Marx proud. Worse, an entirely new generation has bought this dumpster fire of an ideology hook line and sinker and they are being led by around by vapid politicians such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The country can survive President Trump’s mean tweets. It can’t survive Bernie’s vision for America. This clown needs to be defeated in 2020.
