Watched In Horror US Kill 100s Of 1000s Iraqis, Phil Donahue

The Right to Heal Initative is hosting and Phil Donahue is moderating a People’s Hearing on the Lasting Impact of the Iraq War on Wednesday evening in Washington DC., livestreamed, beginning at 6:30 EDT.

Half a million children have died in Iraq since UN sanctions were imposed – most enthusiastically by Britain and the US. Three UN officials have resigned in despair. Meanwhile, bombing of Iraq continues almost daily. – John Pilger, The Guardian

Moderated by Phil Donahue, the hearing will bring together Iraqi civil society leaders, US veterans, and experts in public health and human rights.  

Eleven years ago, many of us rallied in the biggest global protests ever seen to stop the invasion of Iraq. But we were unable to stop the war and watched in horror as an illegal invasion and occupation killed hundreds of thousands of people, and injured and poisoned countless more.

Harms of the war will be felt for generations. CCR has joined war-impacted communities in the Right to Heal Initiative to demand that the full costs of the war be assessed and addressed.
