2ndly, Mary was 3 months pregnant when she started out on her journey to care for her cousin Elizabeth, who was 6 months pregnant when Mary got there. Mary stayed and cared for her and helped her out for 3 months until Elizabeth gave birth to John the Baptist. Mary and Joseph then left on their journey to Bethlehem to the place where Jesus was to be born. As you know, transportation was very slow due to Mary’s delicate condition and she had to ride on a slow donkey.
