Did Simon Peter Really Love Jesus? Agapao Love vs. Phileo Love - Huge Bible Secret Revealed! (Video)

The Biblical passage describing the dining of Jesus with his disciples following his appearance at the Sea of Galilee is found in the book of John chapter 21. The dialogue Jesus had privately with Peter in this passage tells us a whole lot about agapaō love vs. phileō love.  Jesus finalizes this intimate encounter by foretelling of Peters death and how it would glorify God. Looking at the language used in this conversation a major discrepancy comes to light between the love Peter was expressing vs. the love Jesus was asking for.

John 21: 14-19 (KJV Holy Bible):

14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest ^G25 thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love ^G5368 thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest ^G25 thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love ^G5368 thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest ^G5368 thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest ^G5368 thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love ^G5368 thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

19 This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

Love G25 ἀγαπάω agapaō is defined in the Strongs Concordance as follows:

Love G5368  φιλέω  phileō is defined in the Strongs Concordance as follows:

From this passage we learn there is a major difference between [love G25 ἀγαπάω agapaō] and [love G5368  φιλέω  phileō]. 

Peter was stating he had [love G5368  φιλέω  phileō] for Jesus in the sence of: to be a friend to (fond of [an individual or an object]), that is, have affection for (denoting personal attachment, as a matter of sentiment or feeling while [love G25 ἀγαπάω agapaō] is the love Jesus was asking for which is is wider, embracing especially the judgment and the deliberate assent of the will as a matter of principle, duty and propriety.
