One that intelligent thinkers have fallen into for thousands of years.
On the other hand, if you answer with some form of “seeking better explanations” or “solving the problems that arise” in order to simply understand the world better, you are freeing yourself from your preconceptions. You’re predisposed for correcting the misconceptions of the past, and it will keep you optimistic that we’ll eventually be able to find and change mistaken ideas that no one today questions or finds problematic.
