President Donald Trump said he will make a “major announcement” regarding the US-Mexico border on Saturday afternoon.
The scheduled announcement will be held as the partial government shutdown nears the one-month mark.
Trump continues to face opposition against his plan to fund a barrier along part of the US-Mexico border by Democrats and some Republican lawmakers. The debate has culminated in a government shutdown that has affected about 800,000 federal and contract employees.
