What was needed was democracy and the people then are forced to sort out the problem themselves. Real democracy means you earn the vote, fight to keep it, policies and initiatives are started bottom up not top down, there is no political class since they can only serve 1 term of 1 year, there is only a lower house and at any time an MP or member of congress can be recalled by their consituency, not the local party hack acting for the sponsor. Laws and treaties require referendums in a democracy so they are few in number. Notice rule of law is not being mentioned anywhere, it is rule by policy, which changes so no pernament ruling legal class to abuse the process.
