I studied this myself and saw this! GOD can NOT TEMPT us! HE will NEVER lead us into temptations! Never! The sin in us, makes us sinful! We are praying that GOD would lead us out of our own sinful way of tempting ourselves!!! WE do the mess of missed thinking! WE sin inside our thoughts. Remember how Jesus said we need to examine our own thoughts! If you thought sin, you have done it! YIKES! GOD can not sin nor does HE lead us into sin.
So our way of thinking in translation is wrong too. I had to go to the original meaning of the translation. Each word has more than the true meaning in the Jewish background, so we err.
Our memorized verses must be in our hearts in the right Holy way, so just memorizing is not thinking of what we are actually saying. To know GOD’s character, we can in fact, know when our thinking is against GOD’s WAYS in the first place!
So those that think GOD leads us into temptation and we are asking HIM not to, don’t get GOD in HIS HOLINESS. Too many people don’t even know what they are reading… it’s just vain repetition and memorization without heart!
