Swimmers looking for a welcome break from the ongoing heatwave fled in fear when they discovered the small Illinois lake they swam in had evil-looking fish with human-like teeth. The horrific creatures seem to be breeding in the lake far from their native homes of the Amazon River and Papua New Guinea. Area authorities assured the media that the fish are not piranha and aren’t dangerous. But the authorities are wrong: recently two men were horribly mutilated and died when the same type of fish viciously attacked and bit off their testicles…

Fish with teeth reported by alarmed fishermen
KSDK NewsChannel 5 immediately investigated when a viewer notified them that piranhas were discovered in Lake Lou Yaeger. The lake is near the small Illinois town of Litchfield.
Talia Kaplan, the reporter covering the story, consulted the superintendent of the lake, Jim Cadwell, who said the fish does have teeth, but isn’t a piranha.
Piranha can strip a horse to the bone in mere minutes
Although a relative of the piranha, the fish in the lake is actually a pacu, a species indigenous to the Amazon River and introduced to the waterways of Papua New Guinea about 15 years ago.
Kaplan reported that a biologist told her that the pacu is “not dangerous because the fish mostly eat nuts, snails, and vegetation.”

The first one was caught in the lake on June 7th, and another was reported about 10 days after that.
The pacu can grow large and has a taste for testicles

What the reporter, TV station, superintendent of the lake, and biologist are ignorant of is the extreme danger the fish presents to any swimmers in the lake—especially male swimmers.
When the pacu cannot find its normal food—nuts, snails, and vegetation indigenous to the Amazon—it becomes a meat eater. In Papua New Guinea it’s called the ball-cutter fish because it attacks male swimmers and fishermen and savagely bites off their testicles.
John McDonnell reports that two men “died after being castrated by a fish while swimming in a river, causing them to bleed to death.”
Angler Jeremy Wade who caught one of the fish remarked that “When I reeled it in, it had this mouth which was surprisingly human-like, it is almost like they have teeth specially made for crushing.
“They are like human molars and the fish have powerful jaw muscles. They are very deep bodied and solid like a carp, with strong muscles.”
Pacus cannot survive Illinois winters. But until cold weather sets in and the pacus die, human males swimming or wading in the lake are at high risk.

Hey “it’s me again” the fish eats NUTS – get it! It probably has poor eye sight and yours looked delicious.

This is a GMO. The fish was never seen before. They don’t seem to properly trace its ancestry. It has human like teeth. Go figure.
The Pacu is a real fish that is related to the piranha. Others have been caught in rivers and lakes around the country. It really has human looking teeth and I doubt those photos are photoshopped.
