VIDEO: UFO Collides with Russian Rocket

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

  • When: May 16th, 2014
  • Where: Kazakhstan, Russia
  • What: Bright white object speeding across sky and colliding with rocket

Really fantastic footage of a UFO interfering with a Russian rocket – and perhaps causing it to destruct – was made famous by one of those “goofy” conspiracy theorists on YouTube. DAHBOO77 noticed the rocket had company while watching seemingly benign news footage of it.

Shortly after DAHBOO77 and other viewers noticed the UFO, a few “statements” – if you will – were published on the YouTube for the news channel’s video. One comment was posted by rocket geek Matthew Travis:Nice comments about something that was nothing but a video artifact, not a missile or UFO. Nothing hit the rocket. The failure actually happened about 9 minutes after launch. The third stage failed – not the first stage. Contact wwith the rocket was lost at T+540 seconds. The second and third stages failed to separate and the payload faring didn’t release. The rocket itself failed and was not shot down or hit by anything else. All Proton rockets are grounded pending the outcome of the failure investigation and corrective action to the rocket. 12 Proton rockets have failed since December 2010 – three and a half years. That’s 4 per year. Not good.”

And the YouTube description was since to read: UPDATE: There was a failure during the third stage burn of Proton, Ekspress-AM4R and the rocket has crashed back to Earth.”

Hmm… [insert eyebrow-raised emoticon].

See that white dot? That’s the so-called digital artifact:

…and then comes out the other side!

The white object can be clearly see crashing into the rocket and appearing to cause it to explode. This is unlikely to be a digital artifact and even so, how could anyone be so sure?
