The spacecraft that flew the first humans to land on the moon on their journey to and from Earth will spend the 50th anniversary of its historic flight on display in Seattle. The Smithsonian traveling exhibition “Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission” opens Saturday (April 13) at The Museum in Flight, featuring the command module “Columbia.” The museum has expanded the exhibit to include the role of Washingtonians in the space race.
