How to recognize a false man or woman of God

You see stories all the time in the news about false prophets, preachers, teachers, evangelists and apostles but would you know one if you met one? Even if they’re not a prophet but just your average Joe or Jane who claims to love and follow God and you would hear them quoting the scriptures? Would you know if they’re deceived? Think about it, even satan knows the word of God because he twists it all the time and uses it to turn people from Christ and sadly, many preachers, teachers, priests, prophets or evangelists don’t have the discernment to know when satan himself walks in the church doors, and if he has money in hand… all discernment goes out the window. Let’s be honest here, you know it and so does the rest of the world. Most just won’t admit, especially when it comes to money.  So again, would you know a false prophet, man or woman of God if you seen them?

I know of an instance where a man who would carry a cross in the streets, in the Bible belt no less, who would quote the word of God and appear to the world as this prophet and great man of God. But no one really knew him. He showed the world only what he wanted them to see but behind closed doors this man was not only abusive to the 6 children and his wife at the time but he was no different than Hitler, Jim Jones or David Koresh.  He would lie and manipulate the public to make himself look good while with others on a one on one basis, he would use favors, money, fear tactics, threats and blackmail to get what he wanted and still does today.  It is a sad thing when people just take the prophets at their word instead of taking it to God for the truth and confirmation. What is it going to take to get people to wake up to this sort of thing and do something about it or stand up to it? Are people that vulnerable and naive or do they simply don’t care as long as the lie sounds juicy enough and it doesn’t involve them?

If you hear these types of people putting down places like TBN or anyone who genuinely reaches out for the kingdom of God, take that as a warning.  Sure, no is perfect, NO ONE  but that’s why we all need Jesus and we all make mistakes but when you’re quicker to point out faults of others rather than looking at the good their doing by bringing people into the kingdom or by helping others, then that should be a red flag.  When the same person who claims to be of God takes more time to gossip and/or lie about others, it’s a warning. A person who starts trouble, lies not only in court but anywhere in general, laughs at the misery of others, puts down the deceased (especially children)they are not only false but carry A SPIRIT of the anti Christ, deception, witchcraft, a spirit of religion and the truth is not in them. Anyone who is full of pride and puts their needs before any one else’s and is willing to crush anyone to make themselves look better is a clear sign to run as fast and far as you can from them, than pray for them once you’re far enough if you feel, But like Joseph in the bible… RUN and don’t look back!

This false prophet I’m speaking about in particular went as far as not only cheating on his wife (at the time) and not with just any woman, it was her ‘friend’ and a preacher’s daughter. If that wasn’t bad enough that once they divorced the woman he cheated on, her house caught fire in the middle of the night from a storm and 3 of her children died and the mother was injured trying to save her children and this ‘prophet’ and his new girl friend that he moved in with laughed and lied literally in court to take the mother’s daughter away to get him out of paying child support. Does that sound like a true man of God? He would tell the mother about how rotten and terrible her children were when they were alive as this mother is grieving and crying her heart out. He was continually breaking her heart, using her daughter as a weapon in the hopes that she would react so he can feel justified with his actions? This mother came close to taking her own life more than once because of everything that happened.  When the mother tried to see her daughter by calling to make arrangements as instructed by her attorney, this so called ‘prophet’ and his new girlfriend put a warrant out for the mother’s arrest claiming harassment.  Although it was later dismissed and dropped in court by the judge stating that the mother was only following the rules, the mother went almost a year of not being able to see, hear or talk to her little girl.  The prophet took out a loan in which he used to hire a state senator to act as his attorney. It was later discovered this ‘prophet’ told the loan company after he got the loan that he had no intention of ever repaying it back. When the loan officer was told this by the prophet, she done some investigating and found the mother to be innocent of the accusations the father was spewing and broke down and cried. The load officer then made a phone call to a local television station where her mother was a newswoman and told her everything. The mother told her to pray and do the right thing by telling the truth.  The loan officer felt so guilty for approving the loan without first investigating the matter. The loan officer never met the mother appeared in court knowing she couldn’t give the amount loaned, but was able to tell of the accusations the prophet said in their office and how the prophet made it clear he would not repay the loan as well as how she found his accusations to be false. When the loan officer showed up in court the prophet panicked and went to the state senator who was now his attorney.  Once the senator realized the loan officer was there to testify on what took place, court was immediately postponed and within 24 hours the judge ruled in favor of the prophet. The entire case was a setup but because the mother kept fighting for her daughter, they had that court date.  It was also learned this prophet had his friends calling the court house every day to lie about the mother and the prophet went to people’s doors asking them to lie in court. One woman who refused came forward and told exactly what he had done and said. Another couple he asked to lie for him as well denied him said this prophet was later caught hiding out behind a tree in the couples front yard and he was scaring their children. The husband came out with a shotgun, fired a warning and told this prophet that if he didn’t leave his property, he would be shot.  When the prophet got custody of the daughter, he overheard the mother and daughter praying for God to make things right because the daughter was crying and begging God to let her live with her mother again and the prophet used that prayer to hurt them both with. This prophet tormented and laughed at the mother for years and even up to this day he tries at any chance he gets he tries to torment, attack and laugh at the mother. Does this sound like a man of God to you? I’m not talking about the god of this world; I’m talking about the Most High God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?  No! The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob wouldn’t tell someone to lie, torment and destroy the life of an innocent mother who loved and served God with all her heart along with her children who also loved and served God because he has nothing else better to do.

This whole time this prophet became a member of the KKK immediately after he left his wife and still is a member today. While he was doing all this he was appearing to the public to be this great man of God while quoting scriptures, attending church (and giving HIS version of the story). Pastors, preachers, and other prophets along with their congregations took him at his word because he had the little girl next to him. So instead of going to God for clarity, wisdom, guidance and truth they took him at his word.  It took 2 years before the churches learned the truth that the mother being innocent of his accusations but by that time the damage was done and irreparable.  This woman’s life was destroyed because of what this “prophet” had done to her. If that’s not kicking someone when they’re down, then I don’t know what is. During the course of that time when the mother went in to any church she was shunned, put down and looked down upon and ostracized by the churches due to the prophets accusations while being told things such as, God abandoned you, he turned his back and she was told such things as, God was punishing her because her ex husband broke the wedding vows by cheating and leaving which opened the door to evil and by saying God didn’t care or must agree because God didn’t defend her or expose the truth.  This woman was also told to keep her mouth shut by child protective services when she told them the plans she learned of that were made by the prophet and his attorney. The CPS officer agreed it was wrong and illegal but if she opened her mouth to expose them then the court would either put her away or she would never be found again and to keep her mouth shut and keep things quiet because the judge was also involved in the plans of the prophet and attorney. And if that wasn’t enough of what this prophet did, he went as far as getting his friends to help take her surviving children stating she no longer had a stable home anymore because lightning had destroyed her home. Even after all that this so called prophet had done even more to destroy this woman. Doesn’t sound real, does it? Well, every word is true and that you can take to prayer.

People who believe in their own mind that they are right with God but in reality are not are the most dangerous because it’s not the most high God using them. It’s one of those things where you have to ask, would Jesus do that? Would Jesus lie in court and cause so much destruction to a mother who was already just had her life shattered in every way? Why punish a mother because of circumstances that were beyond her control?  I would reveal this false prophets name but for the safety of the mother, I cannot. Be very careful and watch for false prophets, teachers or anyone who claims to be of God because their actions or life out of the public eye will show differently. Don’t be so quick to take someone at their word but take all things to God in prayer and by doing that you will learn the real truth, wisdom, guidance and clarity while at the same time sparing an innocent person the harm a false person of God may be doing to them.

Do not be deceived and fall for something just because someone claims to be of God or they say, “Thus says the Lord”.  Take all things to God as it is written in the scriptures I’ve posted below. By doing so you just may be saving yourself or someone else from harm by waiting on God for the truth, for wisdom, guidance and leading. If the Holy Spirit is within you and you know the difference between the voices, The Holy Spirit, your voice and the voice of the enemy, always listen to the Holy Spirit and do as instructed. 

God tried warning people of this very thing in the following scriptures and remember to test the spirits to see if they are of God as it states in 1 John 4:1 and remember, you also know them by their fruits as it says in Matthew 7:16.

1 John 4:1

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Matthew 7:16

“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”

Philippians 4:6

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Jeremiah 14:14, where it says;

“Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”

  Jeremiah  3:21 saying,

“I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.”

And in  Jeremiah  28:15 is says,

“Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.”

After time, people such as the prophet spoken of in this article is best described in Romans 1:28

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not fitting”

What is a Reprobate mind?  Simply this…

The phrase “reprobate mind” is found in Romans 1:28 in reference to those whom God has rejected as godless and wicked. They “suppress the truth by their wickedness,” and it is upon these people that the wrath of God rests (Romans 1:18). The Greek word translated “reprobate” in the New Testament is adokimos which means literally “unapproved, that is, rejected; by implication worthless (literally or morally).”

Paul describes two men named Jannes and Jambres as those who “resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith” (2 Timothy 3:8). Here the reprobation is regarding the resistance to the truth because of corrupt minds. Titus also refers to those whose works are reprobate. “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate” (Titus 1:16). Therefore, the reprobate mind is one that is corrupt and worthless.

As we can see in the verses above, people who are classified as having a reprobate mind have some knowledge of God and perhaps know of His commandments. However, they live impure lives and have very little desire to please God. Those who have reprobate minds live corrupt and selfish lives. Sin is justified and acceptable to them. The reprobates are those whom God has rejected and has left to their own devices.

Can a Christian have a reprobate mind? Someone who has sincerely accepted Jesus Christ by faith will not have this mindset because the old person with a reprobate mind has been recreated into a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17): “The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Christians are basically “new” people. We live differently and speak differently. Our world is centered on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and how we can serve Him. Also, if we are truly in the faith, we will have the Holy Spirit to help us live a more God-honoring life through the power of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). Those with reprobate minds do not have the Spirit and live only for themselves.

Why God waits so long at times to deal with such people who do harm to innocent lives until it is their time of judgment… it’s hard to say. Why he doesn’t stop bad things before they happen, only God knows but we can’t lose hope although it can be very hard. People need to hold on and wait upon the Lord. I know, It’s not easy; trust me. But some day all your questions will be answered. I know for many of us we wish God would just deal with it now, but unfortunately it doesn’t always go the way we want.  Why? Don’t know… perhaps someday in the future while we are still alive we will see the hand of God move in a particular area for us but if not… the one who does the harm will still have to stand before God and give an account. That’s all I know.  When I hear of people who have had to deal with injustice, corruption of the system, or have been wronged and no one rights the wrongs per say it really bothers me. No one deserves and I mean NO ONE deserves to go through the hell and things the mother has had to deal with, I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. It’s sad because innocent lives are lost and destroyed in war every day. Whether it’s a war between countries, civil wars or spiritual wars… innocent lives are hurt, lost and destroy every day. War has no preface as to whether it’s a man, woman or child who gets hurt or loses their life but we have to stand, pray, believe and stand in the gap for them because maybe they or the survivors can’t because they have no hope or strength.  Regardless of what people tell you or regardless of how it may seem, God is faithful and he will NOT abandoned you so you just have to hold on. And most of all… don’t give up! Don’t give up on yourself and don’t give up on God. There are those who also had to wait on God as well and with that, I wish you all well. Isaiah 40:31

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Many people had to wait upon the Lord such as Abraham, Sarah, Joseph, Job, Simeon, the mother who is mentioned in this article and yes… Even Jesus had to wait as it describes in Hebrews 12:2, 3,

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”
