I’ve quoted this many times as well. But I think it’s interesting that Jesus compared his return to the days of Noah, because while Noah did not know the day or the hour that God was going to flood the entire earth, he did know roughly when it was going to happen because God made it known that it would be in 120 years in Genesis 6:
Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
Also, allow me to remind of you what 1 Thessalonians 5 says:
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman.And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
People always seem to miss that last line as they quote ‘it will come like a thief in the night’. Indeed I missed it too until someone pointed it out to me.
But it’s true, the Day of Christ’s return should not come as a surprise to you. In fact, the very day itself should not come as a surprise to you. If it does, it means you haven’t read the book of Daniel…and maybe a few others. Let me explain.
Most of you are familiar with the seven year covenant that Israel makes with ‘many’, a covenant that the Bible says the Antichrist will confirm in Daniel 9 (note one week = seven years):
Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”
Notice it says the ‘consummation’ is determined. Other translations refer to this similarly, as the ‘decreed destruction’ or ‘decreed end’. This means that day on which Christ returns to end the Antichrist is determined or decreed, which means it is a set day.
Also notice when the abomination of desolations (the Antichrist) comes on the scene, which Jesus also refers to in Matthew 24. He comes on the scene in the middle of that seven year covenant (in the middle of the week). This is important.
So we know the Antichrist’s invasion of Jerusalem happens in the middle of the seven year covenant. So how long does it last? Daniel 7 tells us:
He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall persecute the saints of the Most High,
And shall intend to change times and law.
Then the saints shall be given into his hand
For a time and times and half a time.
The saints (Christians) will be given into the Antichrist’s hand for a time, times, and half a time. Most Bibles with a footnote will tell you that means three years and a half. Basically, ‘time’ is one year, ‘times’ is two years, and ‘half a time’ is half a year or six months. So that means this invasion of Jerusalem will go on for three years and a half.
I don’t know about you, but that feels like a very long time for Jerusalem to be under the boot of the Antichrist. It’s no wonder Jesus said to run like you’ve never run before when you see the Antichrist standing in the temple:
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Sounds horrible. Zechariah 14 sheds a little light on what will be happening over those 3.5 years:
Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
So back to the premise. If you haven’t already figured it out, the Bible tells us exactly when Jesus is coming back and it’s three and a half years from the invasion of Jerusalem. But it even gets more specific, to the very day of Christ’s return and we’ll find it in Daniel 12:
“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
So from the time the abomination of desolations (Antichrist) is ‘set up’ in the temple, meaning to be bestowed or to be worshipped, and the daily sacrifice is stopped, there will be 1290 days. In other words, when we see the Antichrist standing in the temple as Jesus warned in Matthew 24, it’s going to be 1290 days until Christ’s return. And if you haven’t done the math yet, 1290 days equals 3.5 years.
So yes, when Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour except the Father, he was absolutely correct. And we still don’t know at this point when that day will be. But once we see the Antichrist (Gog) standing in the temple in Jerusalem proclaiming himself to be god and the daily sacrifices in the temple cease, then we know exactly what day He is returning. And I feel pretty certain it’s going to be within our lifetimes, and probably much sooner than most expect. Much sooner.

Mk 13 note: In the Son’s humanity, Jesus did not know when the day or hour would be. During this time on earth, Yeshua voluntary waived some of His divine perogatives according to Ryrie Study Bible.
1) This verse may refer to the return of His second coming in Matthew 24:31. If you notice the year is not mentioned, the season is not mentioned, the month is not mentioned. The year is a year of Jubilee. The next one is in 2017 (6003), then 2067 (6053), then 2117 (6103). The season is in the Fall based on Lev. 23:24ff. The month according to the Julian calendar is Tishrei or the seventh month Biblically again based on Leviticus 23. The first of the month is called Rosh Codesh and it begins on the sliver of the new moon. In September of 2017, for example, it is on the 20th or 21st. Since these days are shortened, then we have to add 2-3 days more. Just by guessing, we don’t know the day of the day. All we know is that it will be on the first sliver of the new moon in any given September. See notes Matt 24:31.
Some people claim that Jesus was speaking only to people living in the first century of not knowing the day or hour, not to people living today.
2) There is another interpretation to this verse and that refers to the end of the earth because of Matt 24:35 which Matt 24:36 follows.
3) Day and hour refers to the Day of Atonement for it is 25 hours long (i.e. one day plus one hour).
4) Pentecost is also known as the Day and hour no man knoweth.
According to the Jewish wedding, YeshuaJesus is in Heaven building His house while the bride on earth is preparing herself for the wedding. When the house is ready for the bride, the groom comes for her. (Matt 25:1-13). This will be on the Day of Trumpet (Lev 23:24). The story in Matt 25:1-13 clearly teaches watchfulness (v. 13); i.e., only those who are prepared for His coming will enter the kingdom.

That is false. The Bible’s prophetic timeline goes by 360 day years and a perfect 30 days months. For example, the time of the two witnesses and the beast’s rule in Revelation is 42 months, or 1260 days (not 1290 days). That is 42 times 30.

Jesus said we would know when we are in the season of His return (and we are in that season right now) and we would also know when it is right at the door, or truly imminent. Here is how and when we will know the Second Coming is right at the door, or truly imminent:
There are 3 woes in the Book of Revelation (REV 8:13). In the 1st woe, which lasts 5 months, Abaddon, or the Destroyer (REV 9:11), comes on the scene. During the first woe, no one dies, though many will wish they could (see REV 9:6). But many, many, many will die in the 2nd and 3rd woes (Trumpets 6 and 7). There are 4 angels bound right now at the Euphrates river. When they are loosed, they will kill a third of all mankind (see REV 9:14-15, this is during the time of the second woe). The 2nd woe consists of the 1260 day (REV 11:3) ministry of the two who are one. Their 1260 days coincides with the 1260 days of the Antichrist (Mr. 666). Then at the conclusion of the 1260 days of the two witnesses, at the conclusion of the 2nd woe, the 3rd woe will come quickly thereafter (REV 11:14). The 3rd woe occurs simultaneously with, and in concert with, the Second Coming (rapture). So it is at the conclusion of the 2nd woe that the 3rd woe/Second Coming will be truly imminent, right at the door (Matthew 24:33).
At the advent of the 3rd woe, at the sounding of the 7th trumpet (REV 11:15), there will be “a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great” (REV 16:18). And Christ will come riding on the clouds (REV 1:7) in a more than awesome burst of power and glory to set up the eternal kingdom of God at the glorious conclusion and climactic and cataclysmic exclamation point at the end of the age known as the Second Coming of Christ!

Believers at the time of the Second Coming will exchange their immoral bodies for immortal bodies, and those immortal bodies will have spiritual attributes but also physical attributes as the resurrection body of Jesus (who is the first of many to come) is a body of flesh and bone as indicated in Luke 24:36-43.

In this passage from Luke, when Jesus appeared to them after His resurrection, the disciples thought they were seeing a ghost, but Jesus made clear to them He had a body of flesh and bone and He was able to eat food:

37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

And here in John, we see the resurrected Jesus entering the room through a locked door, showing that His resurrection body had spiritual capabilities. And we also see that Jesus again makes a point of showing that He had a physical body:

25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

You claim that the “Lord” says “grow up” when it’s the Apostle Paul who speaks on this matter and Jesus, in fact, can be quoted as saying “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

The covenant was Jesus preaching for 3 1/2 yrs and being crucified in the middle of the 70th week.
The following ten points provide logical and convincing evidential proof that Daniel’s famous 70th week prophecy has no application to any future seven year tribulation at all. Rather, this great prophetic period of Daniel’s 70 weeks is a Messianic prophecy that was definitely fulfilled nearly two thousand years ago.
1. The entire prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 covers a period of “seventy weeks,” or 490 years. Logic requires that “seventy weeks” refers to one consecutive block of time, in other words, to seventy straight sequential weeks. There is no example in Scripture (or anywhere else!) of a stated time period starting, stopping, and then starting again. All biblical references to time are consecutive: 40 days and 40 nights (see Genesis 7:4), 400 years in Egypt (see Genesis 15:13), 70 years of captivity (see Daniel 9:2), etc. In Daniel’s prophecy, the “seventy weeks” were to begin during the reign of Persia and continue to the time of the Messiah.
2. Logic also requires that the 70th week follow immediately after the 69th week. If it doesn’t, then how can it possibly be called the 70th week!
3. It is illogical to insert a 2,000 year gap between the 69th and 70th weeks of Daniel’s prophecy. No hint of a gap is found in the prophecy itself. There is no gap between the first seven weeks and the following sixty two weeks, so why insert one between the 69th and 70th weeks?
If you told your child to be in bed in 70 minutes, you obviously would mean 70 consecutive minutes. What if five hours later your wide awake son said, “But dad, I know 69 minutes have passed, but the 70th minute hasn’t started yet!”? After receiving an appropriate punishment, he would be sent swiftly to bed.
4. Daniel 9:27 says nothing about a seven year period of “tribulation,” a “rebuilt” Jewish temple, or any “antichrist.”
5. The stated focus of this prophecy is the Messiah, not the antichrist. After the Messiah is “cut off” (referring to Christ’s death), the text says, “And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.” In the past, this has been consistently applied to the destruction of Jerusalem and the second temple by Roman armies led by Prince Titus in A.D. 70.
6. “He shall confirm the covenant.” Paul said “the covenant” was “confirmed before by God in Christ.” (Galatians 3:17) Jesus Christ came “to confirm the promises made to the fathers.” (Romans 15:8) In the King James Version, Daniel 9:27 doesn’t say “a covenant” or peace treaty, but “the covenant,” which applies to the New Covenant. Nowhere in the Bible does the antichrist make, confirm, or break a covenant with anyone. The word “covenant” is Messianic, and always applies to the Messiah, not some antichrist.
7. “He shall confirm the covenant with many.” Jesus Christ said, “This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many…” (Matthew 26:28) Behold a perfect fit! Jesus was quoting Daniel 9:27 specifically.
8. “In the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” After exactly three and a half years of holy ministry, Jesus Christ died on the cross, “in the midst of the week [in the middle of the seven years].” At the exact moment of His death, “the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom…” (Matthew 27:51) This act of God signified that all animal sacrifices at that moment ceased to be of value. Why? Because the Perfect Sacrifice had been offered once and for all!
9. “For the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” The abomination that causes desolation (see Matthew 24:15) is not a simple subject, yet we know that Jesus clearly applied this event to the time when His followers were to flee from Jerusalem before the destruction of the second temple in A.D. 70. In a parallel text to Matthew 24:15, Jesus told His disciples, “When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies [Roman armies led by Prince Titus], then know that its desolation is near.” (Luke 21:20) The disciples did “see” those very events. Because of the “abominations” of the Pharisees, Jesus told them, “See! Your house is left to you desolate.” (Matthew 23:38) Thus Gabriel’s statement in Daniel 9:27 about Jerusalem becoming “desolate” was perfectly fulfilled in A.D. 70.
10. Gabriel said that the 70 weeks prophecy of Daniel specifically applied to the Jewish people (see Daniel 9:24). During the period of Christ’s public ministry of 3.5 years, the Master’s focus was largely upon “the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matthew 10:6) After His resurrection and then for another 3.5 years, His disciples preached mostly to Jews (see Acts 1-6). After that second 3.5 year period, in 34 A.D., the bold Stephen was stoned by the Jewish Sanhedrin (see Acts 7). This infamous deed marked the then-ruling Jewish leaders’ final, official rejection of the gospel of our Saviour. Then the gospel went to the Gentiles. In Acts 9, Saul became Paul, the “apostle to the Gentiles.” (Romans 11:13) In Acts 10, God gave Peter a vision revealing it was now time to preach to the Gentiles (see Acts 10:1-28). Read also Acts 13:46. Thus approximately 3.5 years after the crucifixion and at the end of the 70 week prophecy given for the Jewish people, the gospel shifted to the Gentiles exactly as predicted in Bible prophecy.
The explosive evidence is absolutely overwhelming! Point by point the events of Daniel’s 70th week have been fulfilled in the past. These eight words found in Daniel 9:27: “confirm… covenant… many… midst… sacrifice… cease… abominations… desolate” all find perfect fulfilment in Jesus Christ and early Christian history.

This was a great article but you left out one important piece. The second have of Daniel 12. “Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.” The Day of the Lord will happen 75 days after the abomination of desolation. 7 jewish years is 2550 days. If you add 1335 and 1290 together you will get 2625. That means that these two events have to be partial blended. We know that the abomination of desolation will occur at the mid-point or the midst of the week. Therefore, we can determine there will be 1290 from that point to the end of the 7 years. Blessed is he who waits and comes to the 1335 days is referring to those Christians who endure from the beginning of the 7 years to the Day of the Lord which is 1335 days. Making it 75 days after the abomination of desolation. Clear as mud?! Watch “After the Tribulation” and “The Book of Revelation” by Steven Anderson. Best interpretation of end times.

God’s witnesses are NOT a church. And yes, they have covered the entire Earth, over and over. God’s witnesses are not a church, or as you said it, “the one true church”. They are, however, the “one true faith” that Jesus taught when he created the Christian Congregation in 33 C.E. on Nisan 14. They still exist today, but are called Jehovah’s Witnesses. Prior to that, they were “The Bible Students”, and before that, no name was necessary. In today’s litigous world, a legal name is required in order to operate and function. And yes, Jesus was God’s SON, not God, when he was on Earth as a human. He is now our KING, and will soon destroy all governments, religions and those who are members of those religions, opposers of him and his Father, all those ruining the Earth, and all armies. I cannot post anything indicating how they have brought the Kingdom message to North Korea, as it may endanger the lives of some of them, and those to whom they preach.
Last I verified, Jesus spoke in parables. Mathew 13:34. An outsider simply will never understand what He means because all they know to do is think literally. And so they speculate.

With that said, I do agree with the premise. But let me just say, the temple is our body. Did you not listen to what Jesus said? “Destroy this temple, and in three days, I will raise it up”. The “Pharisees” even until this day still think He is referring to a man made building when He refers to the temple. How ridiculous is that? The AntiChrist is going to enter the temple of “man” like you have never experienced before. That is when the thief arrives. I am talking up close and personal, internal. You can’t predict the future by taking certain Bible passages out of context and using them to form an incomplete picture. In order to prophesy accurately, every Bible prophecy must first be taken into account — not an easy task. That’s why so few commentators are able to do it.
That picture of the Romans surrounding Jerusalem WAS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE END TIMES PROPHECIES>THERE IS NO MORE FULFILLMENT WE”RE WAITING FOR. Jesus is a Spirit and His Presence is here, now, for anyone that seeks Him. He is the Ruler of Heaven and Earth NOW. All power and dominion has already been given to Him. He already conquered the last enemy, which is death. The Bible speaks of saving humanity from spiritual death, not physical death. All anyone has to do to know the timeframe for Christ’s second-coming, IN THE GLORY OF HIS FATHER, that Jesus Himself told His disciples, and actually meant something very important to the original audience almost 2000 years ago that were there listening to Him speak, is look to Matthew 24:34; Mark 13:30; and Luke 21:32. The Romans surrounding Jerusalem was the fulfillment of that prophecy then. The fulfillment of that prophecy soon is for our day and age. The end of the system run by Satan. Our world now is not run by or ruled by Jesus, but by Satan. Shortly, though, Jesus will abyss Satan and the Kingdom whose throne Jesus now sits on will take over complete rulership of Earth from the hands of Satan. The Bible also speaks of saving “God’s named people” from physical death in the final battle, not just spiritual death, since almost all of the inhabitants of Earth now are spiritually dead. They cling to religion, all of which Jesus said is false, and are works of the flesh. Study a bit harder and compare each scripture that isn’t blatantly clear, with all other scriptures speaking of the same subject, and you can see the actual meaning, IF God sees in you an honest heart. Otherwise, it’s impossible to discern the meaning of the scriptures.

First, In the Bible, Antichrist is always used in reference in the time frame of the begining of the church age to the time Satan bodily incarnates himself in the Antichrist. That particular man is then referenced in the Bible as the “son of perdition”. Which is also a reference to the last 3 1/2 years of tribulation.
The “saints” daniel is referencing is the people who are martyred in the first 3 1/2 years of tribulation. Which is shown in the 5th seal of Revelation.
Fallen Angels RUN this world system from above. The true Christians will REPLACE the fallen angels when they are kicked out of heaven, The martyred saints return with him when he takes possession of the planet. He already has ownership.
