What is Reiki

The Reiki energy system is pretty unique. This explains why nowadays this holistic energy system has become a model for so many other contemporary energetic healing forms. You can either undertake a Reiki course or experience a Reiki treatment.

A Reiki course can teach you a wonderful spiritual practice as well as how to perform Reiki treatments. For those wishing to learn it, Reiki comprise a simple structure of three levels. It is possible after training at the first level to begin your spiritual journey and perform treatments to family and friends.

Once the practitioner has gained  some relevant treatment experience and completed his second level, it is possible to start professionally treating clients. You also get deeper into your spiritual journey with the second course.

While continuing their spiritual journey, students start to train as teachers of the system with the third level.

The energy of Reiki moves through your body,. Reiki practitioners understand in fact that Reiki is a form of energy that moves through everything. The word Reiki is technically translated from the Japanese language, meaning ‘Spiritual Energy’. This form of energy is utilized within the system of Reiki teachings.

Origins

The founder of the Reiki energy healing system was a Japanese called Mikao Usui (who lived between the years 1865 -1926).

His teachings were influenced by Shintoism (Japanese traditional folk religion), his Japanese martial arts practice, Shugendo (a spiritual mountain practice), and Japanese Buddhism (named Tendai). Another great influence was the Japanese philosophy and culture  during Mikao Usui’s lifetime.

Reiki Treatments

A Reiki treatment can help for general relaxation or for a specific healing. It’s usually lasting for around  one hour. At all times the client remains fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner goes through a set healing process. As agreed prior to the treatment with the client, the healer is placing hands just off, or on. Condition, age, and sex are of no concern. It is thought that the own body of the client controls this energetic process.

The client’s body will take only the required amount of energy during the treatment. No body parts are touched, clients do no remove clothing and the treatment is not intrusive.

Reiki Courses

Within the Japanese traditional system of Reiki, there are three levels of training :

1. Shoden Reiki Level I

The level I training consists of ongoing support and a minimum of two full days in-person Reiki classes. The ongoing support includes:

■ Reiki techniques and meditations with the purpose to clear and strengthen your energy

■ Learning the three diamonds Japanese energetic system

■ Gaining a clearer understanding and the benefits of the energy working in your life

■ Finding life’s spiritual connection that helps you to feel healthier and happier

2. Okuden Reiki Level II

■ A method of self-healing and facilitating healing to others by using near the body Okuden Reiki Level II or hand positions. Extra training in professional Reiki treatments and a minimum of 1 full day in-person Reiki training. The ongoing support includes:

■ Studying further Reiki techniques and meditations that help you moving deeper into your spiritual practice

■ Learn three Reiki symbols and mantras form the perspective of the Japanese energetic system

■ Learn how to treat others by using diverse of Reiki methods

 3. Shinpiden Reiki Level III

Ongoing support plus a minimum of three full days in-person Reiki training. As a professional Reiki teacher, the ongoing training includes:

•  Further Reiki techniques and meditations that help you moving deeper into your spiritual practice
•  The fourth Reiki symbol and mantra as well as its relationship to Japanese cosmology
