Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey Takes a Shot at Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill – Calls Him a ‘Return Specialist’

Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey isn’t overly impressed by the accomplishments of Kansas City’s Tyreek Hill, Phillip Heilman of the Florida Times-Union reports.
At least not as a receiver.

A day after Hill challenged him ahead of Sunday’s game, Ramsey fired back Thursday by listing off the speedy receiver’s career accolades — as a return specialist.

“He’s good for what he does for their team,” Ramsey said. “He made All Pro as a return specialist — let’s get that right — as a return specialist his rookie year. He went to two Pro Bowls as a return specialist — return specialist — two years. I made All Pro in my position as a corner, went to the Pro Bowl as a corner.

“So it’s not a wide receiver versus corner matchup, so we can get that out of the way off the bat.”

Ramsey’s remarks came three days before the Jaguars (3-1) and Chiefs (4-0) square off in a much-anticipated game at Arrowhead Stadium and were in response to remarks made by Hill the previous day.

Answering a question about Ramsey from Kansas City reporters, Hill said: “He think high of himself. He’s all right, I guess. I can’t wait to line up against him. I hope he presses me.

“He’s a great player. To get my name out there more, I need to go up against more talent like him. I’m not calling [Denver’s] Chris Harris or nobody else bad, but he’s top dog right now, so I can’t wait.”

Ramsey was not impressed by Hill’s waffling.

“I just wish he would have picked a side,” Ramsey said. “Either I’m just all right or I’m the top dog. Pick a side. If I’m the top dog but I’m just all right, that means he doesn’t think that any corner in the league is good, and that’s not true.”

“Me and Tyreek, we’re going to probably have some opportunities to match up against each other, but it won’t be like that for a majority of the game,” Ramsey said. “I think everybody knows that he moves around everywhere. He plays running back, receiver, slot. He’s not out there on that island 90 percent of the time where I’m at.

“I don’t look at it as me versus him. I don’t think this is really a matchup game to be honest with you.”
