Criminal Investigations – Police Detective Ralph Potesta Commits Perjury

Highland Police Department Detective Ralph Potesta committed perjury when he lied on a Probable Cause Affidavit for which he made a false statement under oath and falsely claimed to have been dispatched to the scene of a disturbance.

In this probable cause affidavit Detective Ralph Potesta claimed to have been on duty, dispatched to the scene, and to have spoken with witnesses at the scene. In this probable cause affidavit he claimed to have done this five months after the occurrence of the incident.

A records check of the Highland Police Department showed Ralph Potesta was not on duty, had never been dispatched and did not speak to witnesses in any incident or occurrence. Detective Ralph Potesta submitted his perjured probable cause affidavit that resulted in an investigation being conducted into the incident.

When I, Joseph Zrnchik, initially took his complaint to Chief Pete Hojnicki, Chief Hojnicki stated he had a deal with the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office in which the Highland police officers were allowed to fill out paperwork after the fact and state these inaccuracies even if the detective had not been on the scene, had not been dispatched and had not interviewed any witnesses.

I, Joseph Zrnchik explained to Chief Pete Hojnicki that this was a deal to commit perjury, and a deal to commit perjury is a criminal conspiracy. Accordingly, I, Joseph Zrnchik, took this to the Highland Police Commission and exposed this conspiracy that Captain Pete Hojnicki claimed to have had with the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office. After I had exposed this conspiracy to the police commission that had been claimed by Captain Pete Hojnicki, he then lied and denied ever having made the statement.

I, Joseph Zrnchik, demanded an investigation by someone acting as an Internal Affairs Department and finally an investigation was assigned to the Griffith Police Department. Of course police always lie for each other, so the investigation found that Ralph Potesta “accidentally” filled out the form and mistakenly lied and said he was on duty, mistakenly lied and claimed to have been dispatched to the scene and mistakenly lied about interviewing witnesses. This is how Lake County Justice works.

But, if you stomp, kick and beat an old lady, and your last name is Carter, you get off free and clear of the most heinous and violent crimes. More on this towards the end of this statement.

Indiana Code states anyone who knowingly makes a false statement under oath has committed perjury. The false charges brought by Ralph Potesta were dismissed after investigation by the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office. Because Ralph Potesta had committed Perjury, the Highland Police Department did not want to go forward with the false charges and a perjured Probable Cause Affidavit for fear of a Franks hearing which would have found Ralph Potesta had committed perjury by falsely claiming to have been on duty, dispatched and conducting an investigation. He also falsely claimed to have spoken to witnesses on that occasion.

Maybe Captain Pete Hojnicke was not lying when he claimed to have a criminal conspiracy going with the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office. But, I wonder how the Highland Police Department Department can allow someone to be a detective who commits perjury and lies about conducting an investigation, speaking to witnesses, being on duty and having been dispatched to the scene of an incident? The next question is: How many more times has Detective Ralph Potesta lied on the stand or made false statements under oath? How many more times has he claimed to have been on duty, but was not? How many more times has he claimed to have been dispatched to a scene, but was not? How many more times did he falsely claim to have interviewed witnesses, but did not? How many more times did Detective Ralph Potesta file a Probable Cause Affidavit in which the only piece of truth on the affidavit was that his name was Ralph Potesta? How many more people has he brought false charges against or provided perjured testimony? How many more times has he issued false and perjured evidence? How many more times has he issued a false probable cause affidavit? How many more times does a Highland police detective have to commit perjury before the Lake County Prosecutor’s office does something?

I am writing this because since I had exposed this crime by the Highland Police department his wife, a patrol supervisor has repeatedly harassed me telling me I was not allow to talk to neighbors about the crimes and harassment by Highland police. The police would follow me and threaten to arrest me. They have since falsely claimed I had engaged in Disorderly Conduct during an incident where I was being harassed even though there are eleven neighbors testifying as to the this new incident of corruption.

Because of exposing this corruption, the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office has also brought false charges of Resisting Arrest and Interfering With Law Enforcement even though not one police officer of six dispatched made a statement stating I, Joseph Zrnchik, had resisted arrest or interfered with law enforcement in any manner whatsoever.

Meanwhile, my mother-in-law, 67 year-old Sandra Koziol, was stomped, kicked and beat until she was unconscious and suffered broken bones and a serious neck injury by one 19 year-old Nathaniel Carter. When I attempted to see if any charges were filed, all charges were dropped and the perpetrator was given deferred prosecution. There was no jail time. There was no compensation from the perpetrator to the victim who had missed weeks and weeks of work. There was no compensation for a serious neck injury and broken arm in an attack that was so violent that the perpetrator actually broke another man’s back as he tried to stop the vicious and violent attack on a 67 year-old grandmother.

I attempted to try to ascertain if this Natanial Carter was any relation to Bernard Carter and asked specifically for a statement from the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office to disavow any family relationship. A spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office stated Bernard Carter would not make any statement regarding the lack of any family relationship between himself and Nathanial Carter. Anyone having knowledge and proof of any family relationship between the two will be paid a $500 reward.

So, while vicious criminals are allowed to violently prey on grandmothers, Highland Police Detective Ralph Potesta makes false charges, commits perjury, lies about interviewing witnesses, lies about being on duty, lies about being dispatched and then makes a perjured probable cause affidavit on my son because he was a 16 year-old and beat up a cop’s son who was 19 year-old.

The two police officers who actually were dispatched to the scene and did speak to witnesses decided not to file charges and told my son that if he was not filing charges, there would be no charges filed against either party.  But, Ralph Potesta was told to perjury a Probable Cause Affidavit five months after the incident and then changed the story and lied about being on duty, lied about being dispatched, lied about speaking to witnesses and then lied about conducting an investigation when the incident occurred.
