Best Food Travel Apps

Food is obviously one of the most important things when you are traveling.  But it is sometimes difficult finding the right restaurant when you are visiting a city or country you aren’t familiar with.  Here are the best food travel apps, so you can always find the food you are craving no matter where you are traveling.  Added bonus: they are all available free in the app store.

Withlocals
Like its name suggests, this food travel app helps you book unique private tours with real locals at your travel destination. What makes Withlocals one of the best food travel apps is the unique, personalized experiences it offers to its users. The app connects curious travelers with locals and offers unique food experiences, as well as other customizable travel experiences in over 80 destinations worldwide.

LocalEats
LocalEats focuses on only the best local restaurants, so you won’t find chain restaurants on this food travel app. You can filter your options by cuisine, price range, and meal type. Available in all 50 states and in select worldwide cities such as Bangkok, Istanbul, and Tokyo. LocalEats also provides top 10 lists for restaurants in each region.

Foodspotting
You know when you get a craving for something specific and nothing else will do? There’s a food travel app for that: Foodspotting. You can search for the dish you are craving and the app will show you which nearby restaurants offer the dish you want. Foodspotting lets users share photos and recommendations for restaurants in the area.

Zomato
Previously Urbanspoon, Zomato is another popular and easy to use food travel app. The app lets users search for nearby restaurants by cuisine type and is complete with menus, reviews and customer photos.

ChefsFeed
Another great food travel app, ChefsFeed features restaurant recommendations from chefs around the world. You can search based on your location. ChefsFeed also has information about restaurant openings and new menu items, as well as guides, videos and more posted by chefs.

Zagat
The famous restaurant guide, Zagat, is now available in the form of a convenient food travel app. The app uses your GPS location to show you nearby eateries and you can filter by cuisine type, price, and use keywords to find the right restaurant wherever you are. The Zagat app includes maps, menus, guest reviews and ratings curated by editors so the content is reliable and helpful.

Roaming Hunger
If you have an obsession for trendy food trucks, Roaming Hunger is the food travel app for you!  Roaming Hunger links users with over 16,000 food trucks in different cities across the United States and Canada, as well as several other countries. You can use Roaming Hunger’s interactive map to find nearby food trucks and food carts selling delicious street foods, or you can book a food truck for a private event or work catering.

The Infatuation
The Infatuation is a great food travel app for looking for the perfect restaurant for your specific plans, such as date night, girls’ night out, brunch, etc. You can browse nearby options or search for something more specific. The Infatuation focuses on high quality, honest reviews, rather than quantity. The app currently offers service in select cities worldwide such as Paris, Denver, Mexico City, Melbourne, Rome, and Tokyo, with plans to expand in the future.

Great post! When going on a trip, I can book and plan almost everything in advance, but it is inconvenient to choose places where I can eat being at home. Usually I use a list of traveller food resources from https://travelsites.com/food-near-me/ that allows me to read reviews of bars, cafes and restaurants near me and book tables. But it is great to find out more good apps, so thanks for sharing!
