South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham asked President Donald Trump to declare a national emergency in order to build a wall on the southern border after meeting with him Friday.
“I just met with President Trump and his team. It’s clear to both of us that Democrats don’t want to make a deal and will never support border wall/barriers on President Trump’s watch, even though they did so in the past,” Graham said in a statement after meeting with Trump.
“They hate President Trump more than they want to fix problems, even problems they acknowledged to be real and serious in the past. Democrats will do everything in their power to defeat Trump in 2020,” Graham continued.
“Mr. President, declare a national emergency now. Build a wall now,” he said.
As Trump traveled to the southern border to meet with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials to discuss border security Thursday, Graham has lobbied members of Congress to reach an agreement on a bill that would fund the government and protect the borders.
Late Thursday afternoon, Graham released a statement saying Democrats will refuse to compromise and that it is time for Trump to use emergency powers.
“Speaker Pelosi’s refusal to negotiate on funding for a border wall/barrier, even if the government were to be reopened, virtually ends the congressional path to funding for a border wall/barrier,” Graham said in a Thursday statement.
“It is time for President Trump to use emergency powers to fund the construction of a border wall/barrier,” he continued. “I hope it works.”
Trump warned Democrats he might declare a national emergency if they cannot come to an agreement soon.

damn the socialists and build the wall Trump they will never concede defeat even though they agreed to this solution several years ago. its all about politics and nothing about whats best for the country unless obama was still Potus and then they would have a wall up in weeks.

Most socialist countries have always protected their borders until recently, and the ones that still do do a hell of a lot better job of it than we ever did.
It IS a national emergency. We have been invaded by millions of undesirables.
A national emergency should have been declared when 911 happened , dickhead cheney should have locked this country down like a nun in a chastity belt.
Instead he flooded us with invaders and increased our vulnerability exponentially.
President Trump has a responsibility to the CITIZENS of the united states of anarchy to clamp our borders shut any way he can do so, as fast as he can. And aggressively hunt down all the criminals who are here in direct contrast to our laws.

President Trump should WITHHOLD the pay for the Senate and Congress For being NON ESSENTIAL Government workers !

Like I have been saying, we need a law that states that when politicians and political appointees do not perform, yank their pay. For every day they are not successfully managing the country, they should lose a days pay. Including benefits like health insurance and retirement funding.
That includes the Whore House. Right now everyone in congress, the pentagram, and the Whorehouse, from the janitors and maids up through the oval office, should be on unpaid leave.
