Lag and glitches are problems all gamers must deal with, though sometimes they can determine a serious win or loss. As much as we hate people who scream “WTF LAG!!” every time they die, we’ve all had our share of unfair moments that warrant smashing controllers. Though you may think you’ve had bad experiences with glitchy software and hardware, nothing compares to this video posted from a Halo 3 Major League Gaming match recently, in which an xbox 360 failure seriously impacted the game’s outcome.
I know how many of you people out there hate whiners, but this clearly isn’t a case of sore losers. Uploaded on youtube, the video shows the controversial match between teams “Triggers Down” and “Hysteria” at MLG Orlando. Moments before a decisive flag capture, the round freezes, reloads, and consequently respawns the flag out of the hands of team “Triggers Down.” While I personally am not making a call on who is at fault here, something clearly isn’t right. According to the poster of the video, the moderators for the MLG forums are cracking down on arguing the controversy. Though understandable because of the type of pointless screaming these threads tend to attract, it does seem like a quite harsh reaction. One way or another, all I can say is that if I were in team Triggers Down right now, I too would be fuming.
