Dante's Inferno - DLC February 23rd
Even before the action game Dante’s Inferno hits the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next Tuesday, developer Visceral Games has announced plans for downloadable content for the game.
Next month, a Dark Forest prequel level will explore the story of the character Dante’s return from the Crusades to Italy. Then in April comes Trials of St. Lucia, a co-operative multiplayer expansion with a new playable character and in-game combat editor. The editor lets players create combat ‘trails’ and share them online.
The announcement promises “a series of downloadable content packs and expansions beginning in February” and “downloadable packs containing souls, skins, relics and magics to further boost players on their journeys through Hell.”
Executive producer Jonathan Knight says in the announcement that “we cannot wait for players to experience the terrifying and exhilarating vision of Hell that awaits in Dante’s Inferno. This team did an amazing job adapting a 700 year-old piece of literature and creating a captivating, thrilling, grotesquely beautiful experience that both gamers and literature fans will enjoy. And to top it off, we are thrilled to bring online multiplayer and content creation to the game in April.”
