WAR is Coming

This is what happens when you have a weak U.S. President who has absolutely no clue of anything about military actions. Remember when there was an earlier provocation a few months ago involving the sinking of a South Korean ship?  Nothing was done about that by President Barack Obama (PBO), so North Korea feels free to flex their military muscles as they exert their influence in a change of leadership.  Keep your eye on this…. This may be the start of a world war or conflict may come to the U.S. shores.  Don’t panic.  Just be vigilant and prepared.  Hope for the best but plan for the worst.

 Just think: Obama is working at warp speed to pass the New START Treaty, which will ultimately end with totally eliminating all of our nuclear weapons.  What do we do then when Iran, North Korea, and/or Pakistan attack us with nuclear weapons?  Speak of incompetence.  This is it.

North Korea Fires at South Korea; 2 Dead

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA (TheStreet) — North Korea fired about 100 artillery shells toward a South Korean island near their border Tuesday, killing at least two South Korean marines, military officials said, Yonhap News Agency reports.  Fifteen other South Korean soldiers were wounded, five of them seriously, defense officials said, CNN reports.  Three civilians were injured in the attack.

South Korea’s military returned fire and lobbed more than 80 shells toward North Korean artillery positions. South Korea also deployed fighter jets to the island and placed all its troops on maximum alert, said the officials, Yonhap reports.  South Korea President Lee Myung-bak Tuesday instructed his senior secretaries to take measures to prevent the escalation of the clash.

“(We) should carefully manage the situation to prevent the escalation of the clash,” Lee was quoted as saying by a spokesman before presiding over an emergency meeting of security-related ministers at an underground bunker at the presidential compound, the news agency reports.  Some residents on Yeonpyeong Island, which lies just south of the maritime border between the two Koreas, were wounded and houses and forests were on fire, according to Yonhap.

Another South Korean official said North Korea’s attack was a “clear military provocation” and warned that North Korea would face “stern retaliation” if it launched more attacks.  ”North Korea will have to bear full responsibility” for Tuesday’s attack, said Hong Sang-pyo, senior secretary for public affairs at the presidential office Cheong Wa Dae, in a statement, Yonhap reports.

North Korea’s military command, meanwhile, vowed a “merciless” military strike against South Korea. In a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency, North Korea accused the South Korean military of initiating the exchange by shooting toward its side.  ”Should the South Korean puppet group dare intrude into the territorial waters of the (North) even 0.001 mm, the revolutionary armed forces of the (North) will unhesitatingly continue taking merciless military counter-actions against it,” the statement said, Yonhap reports.

The White House, in a statement Tuesday, said “The United States strongly condemns this attack and calls on North Korea to halt its belligerent action and to fully abide by the terms of the Armistice Agreement. The United States is firmly committed to the defense of our ally, the Republic of Korea, and to the maintenance of regional peace and stability.”
