On Sunday, the White House released an instantly-iconic photo of President Donald Trump and his military advisers taken during the special forces raid that resulted in the death of ISIS founder and leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

It quickly made the rounds on social media, and while a handful of bitter leftists tried to disparage the photograph, it’s sure to go down in history as one of the most impactful images of POTUS 45.

The photo of Trump watching the raid was shared by Dan Scavino, his social media director.

Trump is in the center, flanked by Vice President Mike Pence, National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff U.S. Army General Mark A. Milley, and Deputy Director for Special Operations Brig. Gen. Marcus Evans.

On Saturday night, Trump confirmed that he had watched the operation with his advisors.

On Sunday morning, Trump announced the death of al-Baghdadi.

“He died like a dog, he died like a coward,” Trump said on Sunday. “The world is now a much safer place.”

He gave these comments to the nation from the White House.

“Last night, the United States brought the world’s number one terrorist leader to justice,” Trump said. “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead. He was the founder and leader of ISIS, the most ruthless and violent terror organization anywhere in the world.”

Trump explained that the terror leader had detonated a suicide vest as he found himself trapped in a tunnel with his three children as American forces approached.

“He died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering and crying and screaming all the way,” Trump said.

He described that raid as “absolutely perfect, as though you were watching a movie.”

Amazingly, the president shared, no American troops were wounded in the operation, and although “a beautiful dog, a talented dog” that had been part of the operation had been wounded, he had been brought back for treatment.

“They did a lot of shooting, and they did a lot of blasting,” Trump said of our excellent special forces.

“Thank you, as well, to the great intelligence professionals who helped make this very successful journey possible,” he also said.

He also took the opportunity to offer a chilling warning to our enemies:

“These savage monsters will not escape their fate, and they will not escape the final judgment of God,” he said.
