From Kathleen Kaiser
Irwin Zucker, Founder of Book Publicists of Southern California
In 2010, when I started the Pacific Institute for Professional Writing with Shelly Lowenkopf, Irwin Zucker was the first person from another organization to contact me and say he would gladly help me out. Since then, BPSC has always sponsored whatever events we plan, including everything I’ve done since coming to WPN in 2014.
Irwin is a legend in book publicity. Though he started in record promotion, he moved to books in the 60s and never looked back. His motto was “It doesn’t cost anything to be nice.” And he always was a total gentleman, thoughtful, and remembered little things about you. A true mark of a good person.
Here is the link to the LA Times obituary for Irwin. https://www.legacy.com/us/obit…
If you’d like to tune into the Zoom Memorial for him, here is the information to attend from IWOSC, who is putting this together.
Irwin’s BPSC Memorial will be held on Zoom from 6 pm to 8 pm Pacific tomorrow, Wednesday, 7/20.
We’ll have some scheduled speakers, and then will select attendees from the audience to share for up to 5 minutes each.
