URGENT MESSAGE! 4,247 Exposed To HIV/AIDS - Authorities Urge Former Patients To Get Tested NOW!

Millions of people put their lives in the hands of medical professionals every day in America expecting those professionals to use every precaution to keep them safe from the many germs and diseases they themselves come into contact with on a daily basis. But for those unfortunate enough to be treated at one long Island Hospital a nightmare and real time health scare is now unfolding.

The Long Island hospital says some patients may be at risk of exposure to hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV after authorities found that an insulin pen may have been used with more than one patient. South Nassau Communities Hospital, Long Island New York, is sending out 4,247 letters to patients recommending they be tested for hepatitis B and C and HIV because of the risk of infection from an insulin pen.

South Nassau Community Hospital says the risk of infection is extremely low but is nevertheless recommending that patients get tested.

The hospital is offering free blood testing services and has set up toll-free hotlines that patients can call to schedule a blood test.
