(Before It's News)

Recently, Karapaia, a Japanese news site focusing on the strange and weird, posted a video of what seems to be a giant monster being dug out of the ground in Vietnam. In the video, the long, fat, gray slug-like creature is surrounded by a crowd of curious onlookers watching with rapt attention as the horrifying behemoth is hoisted onto a trailer.

But what in the world could it be? A giant worm? An alien aggressor? A genetic experiment gone horribly wrong?

  • No….it’s a whale you complete idiot.

    • really

That’s what I thought, maybe a genetically altered/deformed whale caused by the chemical soup that it lives in. (the ocean)

  • How stupid are the people who work here?! Look at the dorsal fin and see the blowhole! It is a whale, you idiots!

  • thetruth

awww, you scared sweet loves. thats no whale.

  • That is no worm… it is a GROUND WHALE! They migrate from the cold waters of the southern Pacific to rest here for the winter. They bury themselves in the sand and wait for summer to arrive. Dang, I thought the readers on this site were more informed! LMAO!

    • RobiMac

I’m approaching 50, and of all the animal shows that I have seen in my lifetime, there was never a mention of a ‘ground whale.’

      • We have land sharks in Florida. Beware the beaches!

    • CRACKING UP @ “ground whale”! Jojo, please tell us more about these beautiful, shy, elusive denizens of the deep.

    • A ground whale? Oh lord. I haven’t laughed out loud like that in forever. BEST ANSWER.

It’s also great to reference a DreamWorks film like it’s reality.

  • sperm whale

  • Ignorance is acceptable

But I do believe your beloved monster is no more than a baleen whale.

  • I for one would like to welcome our giant slug overlords…Poor whale…Looks like a lot of meat for hungry people…

  • While I’m not an expert it’s pretty easy to see it’s a whale and I believe a sperm whale to be specific……monster….

    • I-OMEGA

  • I’m sorry to inform you all but you are all wrong about this creature’s identity. This is clearly a photograph and video of the extremely rare and dangerous Cambodian Dikfer. That or a common Asian Henwei.
While photos of the common henwei exist they are rare. It is the Cambodian Dikfer that has never been photographed before. Kudos to the people who got this one! They could’ve died a most gruesome death if they had crossed a Dikfer.

    • Interesting.

As they loaded it on the trailer its head, eye, large mouth, and blowhole appear to indicate whale…

I also Googled both the species and found no reference or photos of either the Cambodian Dikfer or the Asian Henwei……

    • LMAO—-I have to ask Two Questions!!! FIRST, What do all yall wanna be a Dik-Fer?? And Second, Exactly How much does a Hen-Weigh????
Poor TombRaider—Yall had him trying to Google a Dikfer and a Henwei!!! LOL……..

    • Mischief! Always up to some kind of meanass mischief….. Prob’ly take friends snipe huntin too. Now stop causing trouble and go check to blinker fluid in my car!

    • Just for the sake that nobody else got it…
      Hey SSPYDERx68? What’s a Cambodian Dikfer?

…wow people tried to look that up? reallly? Too funny Spydy!

    • Just for the sake that nobody else got it…
      Hey SSPYDERx68? What’s a Cambodian Dikfer?

…wow people tried to look that up? reallly? Too funny Spydy!

BTW the Henwei’s, research shows that sized depends on actual breed. They can get very large from what I understand.

    • A relative of the fearsome and seldome seen chupacabara, It seems. I looked it up elsewhere on this highly knowledgeable site

  • Dont you remember the movie tremors?

    It is a snake-oid!

    • Exactly what I was thinking… one of my favourite movies haha. Although the name they used was Graboid I believe.

  • young blue whale

  • g1rock

Give it a couple of days and it’s gonna stink!

    • Omerta

Not in Vietnam. That thing is nothing but a pile of bones and leftovers.

  • Can anyone say Sushi!!

  • How else could a village feed itself a whale but to bury it in a pit BBQ? Yum.

  • This is terrible. why did they dig this whale up exactly?

  • most likely a juvenile Blue Whale. Pectoral fins aren’t large enough to be a full size adult…even the body length wouldn’t be close to adult size. But you can obviously tell by the long curved shape of the mouth and how the bottom billows out that it’s a Blue Whale. Just look up some photos of a Blue Whale and you’ll see it right away.

  • It looks like a Baline whale by its mouth

  • This is totally a whale if you can’t see that then you better get your eyes tested cause your as blind as a bat.

  • That is Katsuyu the giant slug summoned by Lady Tsunade the 5th Hokage of Leaf Village

  • It’s a whale. You can see the blowhole in the first 5 seconds of the clip.
    People are morons.

  • OMG!! It’s the Photoshop Monster….run for your lives!!!

  • Just google search baleen whale. It is definitely that. For the person that wondered why they dug this up, they didn’t dig it up. There is no hole in the ground visible after they lift the whale. Obviously this is just a beached whale they are removing from the beach.

  • ???

It’s dinner! What ever it is….

  • Reminds me of a colony of ants swarming around a bigger dead bug.

It’s a Baleen whale. Not a Sperm whale nor a big worm nor a strange alien creature.

    • really

I now think you are correct.

“Baleen whales have two blowholes, causing a V-shaped blow. These paired blowholes are longitudinal slits that converge anteriorly and widen posteriorly. They are surrounded by a fleshy ridge that keeps water away while the whale breathes. The septum that separates the blowholes has two plugs attached to it which make the blowholes water-tight while the whale dives”

One can clearly see this blowhole arrangement in the video, clear as day.

  • The comments are better than the story….bwa..ha…ha

  • It’s rubber air filled HOAX to make you think it’s real. NOT BUYING THE BULL :)

  • Guys, if you click on the link to the article, it clearly states that this is a dead whale. Dnt be mislead by the title, it’s just to catch your attention lol

  • That’s just a dead Blue Whale! Nice sensationalization of an everyday occurrence!

  • OMG…….it’s a sperm whale………MONSTER……!!!!

  • It’s an ELAHW…WHALE

  • What a phony way to attract attention to this website! I’m unsubscribing!

  • xox

Are people stupid? Thats a whalr. Clearly!. U can tell when they lift it up by its mouth and sutch. Its probably just been dead a whikr

  • Wait…. It’s an intergalactic being from Niburu

    • …that flew in off the tail of comet Ison ;)

  • It does look whale-like, but what about those tiny, TINY pectoral fins? It does also appear to have a very pointed nose. It’s shape is like a long tube… not really what I associate with a whale. Sure, it has a blow-hole like a whale or dolphin, but all that really means is that it breathes air. It does appear to have a baleen which obviously whales have, but does not exclude any anomalies. In the end, even if this IS a whale, it sure is a VERY ODD looking one. Perhaps the mother abandoned it because it had birth defects.

  • Its a whale of a story blown out of proportion by the mentally retarded.

    • you’re ½ correct ;)

 I see what ya did there

      • ignore the ½ correct part ;)

      • Are those knifes and forks in those folks hands????

  • Not to worry friends…. This is Obamacare’s new proctology inspector.

  • It is Gojira’s next nemesis.

  • “What is it?”
why its another feeble attempt to sucker in readers to yet another BS article on this site, the National Enquirer of the Internet strikes again!!!

  • Looks like somethin I shot out of the tip of my Dick in Nam

  • Holy Buckets!!! A Graboid!….it’s a frakin’ Graboid! They DO exist! Awesome…..

  • Are you guys for real? Its OBVIOUS! Has nobody else seen the movie TREMORS?

  • From the article:

The video, which was found on a Chinese site with little in the way of an explanation, is most likely a recording of a beached, deceased whale being loaded on a trailer for burial. It seems that in Vietnam, whales–dead or alive–are considered harbingers of good luck, and fishermen are always happy to see them in their waters. However, when one of them shows up dead, the fishermen will work together to pull the creatures to shore for entombment. The animals are absolutely not to be hunted or eaten.

Here’s the picture that shows clearly it’s a whale:

This is just another case of a BIN poster that is more interested in getting page views than spreading the truth. Another person out there giving the skeptics a reason to be skeptical.

  • Not a blue whale, not a sperm whale, but rather a Minke whale.

    But thanks for playing.

  • Vessa

I think it might be a Pannoniasaurus.

  • It’s a baleen whale people! Just google search it and compare it’s mouth. It’s not a monster, not a baline whale, not a blue whale, not a sperm whale, not a hoax, it’s a baleen whale!

  • Beetlegueses sand worm. Maybe these are causing all the sink holes along with haarp

  • Open Letter to the Alternative Media & patriots worldwide! RED ALERT! /alternative/2014/02/open-letter-to-the-alternative-media-2895742.html
