Glenn Beck Plans $2 Billion Libertarian City In Texas, Utopian Community Based On Ayn Rand's "Galt's Gulch"

According to Dallas Observer Blogs “Earlier this week, Glenn Beck announced that he was reinventing The Blaze, his online media property, as a global libertarian news network, complete with three foreign bureaus, a nightly news magazine, and, no doubt, lots of Beck himself.

Last night Beck announced on The Blaze the next stage of his full-bodied embrace of libertarianism, which seems to be a massive commune inspired by “Galt’s Gulch,” Ayn Rand’s utopian community in Atlas Shrugged.”  See more here:

Glenn Edward Lee Beck (born February 10, 1964) is an American conservative, television network producer, media personality, radio host, author, entrepreneur, and political commentator. He hosts the Glenn Beck Program, a nationally syndicated talk-radio show that airs throughout the United States on Premiere Radio Networks. He formerly hosted the Glenn Beck television program, which ran from January 2006 to October 2008 on HLN and from January 2009 to June 2011 on the Fox News Channel. Beck has authored six New York Times–bestselling books.  Beck is the founder and CEO of Mercury Radio Arts, a multimedia production company through which he produces content for radio, television, publishing, the stage, and the Internet. It was announced on April 6, 2011, that Beck would “transition off of his daily program” on Fox News later in the year but would team with Fox to “produce a slate of projects for Fox News Channel and Fox News’ digital properties”.  Beck’s last daily show on the network was June 30, 2011. In 2012, The Hollywood Reporter named Beck on its Digital Power Fifty list.

Beck’s supporters praise him as a constitutional stalwart defending traditional American values, while his critics contend he promotes conspiracy theories and employs incendiary rhetoric for ratings

His critics are (schills and disinfo.) agents, because he is correct and they are scared he can get to the public and turn things around. for the most part he is SPOT ON, we could really turn america around if he was allowed to overcome the MSM scum bag networks.

Beck isn’t worthy of laundering Alex Jones poop stained undergarments, mate!

Beck is a capitalist. He has the right to say and do whatsoever he wants, as long as he’s paying for it. I find him useful and his information personally valuable. Now, if these idiots begging for government subsidies, all the while bashing conservatives relentlessly, neither deserve my hard-earned taxpayer’s revenue nor debt forgiveness from their growing revenue losses due to their dwindling liberal viewership (remember, lefties only like to spend other people’s money).

Glenn has more brain power then the entire WH or the congress…good common sense (Cents)!

If Beck can find a way to unite the fractured and often self-destructive “liberty” movement, I say more power to him, but I’m not going to hold my breath. First you have Objectivists, who are generally cranky bitchers that generally eat their young (figuratively of course). They typically detest “Objectivish” individuals based on a disagreement over whether Rand’s philosophy is open (ie, it can be improved over time), or closed (ie it is perfect as is and changing one iota would ruin it). These groups actively attack and impeach the other in a state of flux and war. Both of these groups of course can’t stand traditional libertarianism (and would never refer to themselves as such). Libertarians are thieves, who stole Ayn Rand’s ideas while ignoring the core moral, epistemological and metaphysical foundation of her philosophy. Objectivism is an atheist philosophy, it sees religion as a threat to freedom as much as it does socialism. A religious, pro-life, antiwar candidate like Ron Paul for example is despised by all Objectivists or objectivishts who supported Romney as being morally superior! Then you have the anarcho-capitalists and certain elements of the Ooccupy movement who are generally disliked by all of the above. Can Beck consolidate and integrate this batch of often crazy sounding people? Let’s see.

You forgot to mention he is also an untreated alcoholic. No doubt Blazistan will end up like Wacostan.

      Can you say megalomaniac?

      He is C-R-A-Z-Y, certifiable…

Glenn Beck is an opportunist. He pounced on the Tea Party to corrupt and redirect its goals of lower taxes and less government, has used his garnered fame to promote himself and to try to use the Tea Party as a crowbar to become a personally political force. Meanwhile he directs people to buy ‘preparedness’ geegaws (sold for much less money and with better quality on REAL Mormon websites – REAL Mormons have encouraged preparedness for years). He wants people to PAY him to learn about HIS interpretations of economics, free markets, and “americanism” (apparently he has never heard of Milton Freedman, Harry Browne, or Frederick Mises, much less Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson, whose writings can be read for free at any public library, and whom he shamelessly butchers with his carefully-mined quotes). His conclusions are faulty because they are primarily driven by greed and self-aggrandizement.

Can you imagine living in HIS “Galt’s Gulch”? A megalomaniac and a tyrant, who would swiftly open the gates and let the government in to haul off his supporters, calling them crazy and letting them become incarcerated, even die for his beliefs – while he scoots off scot-free to his multimillion-dollar estate, laughing all the way to the bank… Anyone who believes in this Quisling deserves exactly what they will get.

Good for him. Nice to see an alternative to the liberal zoos they’ve shackled to society’s ankle over the last 40 years. Detroit and Chicago are two perfect examples that no sane mind could argue against. Two cancerous liberal cities that have failed and now we’re forced to foot the bill to baby sit them and to provide them their daily free government cheese. The sad part there’s 20 or so other crapholes just like Detroit and Chicago……….Beckville sound pretty good to that old song and dance.

atlas shrugged by ayn rand. a horror story about killing the population by government and the elites go on to make a better world. sound familiar? glen is in it for glen. he makes nasty sniping comments about people and talks about himself too much.

I can see Beck’s  utopia now; Statues of Reagan defecating on Woodrow Wilson at every corner. Before it’s news should have an icon of the mad hatter for Beck.

Just what Texas needs — another secluded, quasi-religious, ideologically-extreme cult run by a self-anointed prophet who is little more than a political televangelist with delusions of grandeur.

      • getreal

And so where do live? SF or LA or NY or Chi. etc. LOL!

    • Amacha

In a few months he will find a neo-Marxist Communist Nazi Muslim Papist Liberal conspiracy that was trying to tear down his vision and start asking for money to fight the subversives that are trying to ruin his life.

Beck serves Israel. Mormons Serve Israel. Ever noticed the similarities in their religions?

Those who think that Alex “Kosher” Jones is controlled opposition agent need to check out Glenn “Sphinkterface” Beck – that’s controlled opposition written all over in red flaming letters.

    • DaveB

“Utopia” was a totalitarian dictatorship theorized by Sir Thomas More, where every aspect of ones life was completely designed and governed, which has absolutely nothing what so ever to do with “libertarianism”.

I do wish people would stop using “Utopia” as a reference to freedom and liberty, it most definitely is nothing of the sort.

Libertarianism on the other hand, is the idea that the individual is sovereign and the Governments only responsibility in the matter, is the protection of the rights of the sovereign individual.
