Steps to Peace with God: Do not Delay, Reach Out to Jesus Christ and Ask Him to Please Forgive You and He Will!

Step 1: God’s Purpose: Peace and Life
God loves you and has a purpose for your life. God wants you to experience the life He created you to have. He wants you to have peace and purpose through a personal relationship with Him.

The Bible says:
We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Step 2: Our Problem: A Missing Relationship
There’s a problem. Something is missing … a relationship with God.

We were created to have a relationship with God, but He did not make us to automatically love and obey Him. He gave us a will and the freedom to choose.

From the very beginning, we chose to disobey God and run our own life. This is what the Bible calls sin. The result is an empty life separated from God.

The Bible says:
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

Our choice leaves an empty life separated from God.

Our attempts to reach God.
People try to fill the emptiness in their life many ways. They also try to build a bridge to God by doing a lot of good things.

The Bible says:
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us. Titus 3:5

No bridge reaches all the way to God … except one.

Step 3: God’s Bridge: The Cross
Jesus provided the only way to God.
In order to bridge the gap between God and people, God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Chris, into this world. He died for our sins on the cross and rose from the grave. This opened the way for forgiveness and a new relationship with God.

The Bible says:
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, … He was buried, and … He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

God has provided the only way. Now the choice is yours.

Step 4: Our Response: Receive Christ
God has done everything necessary to provide forgiveness and restore the missing relationship in our lives. He offers us the choice to accept it. We accept it by trusting in what Jesus did for us on the cross and receiving Him as our Lord (the One we will follow) and Saviour (the only One who can rescue us from sin).

The Bible says:
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:12

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Will you turn to Jesus Christ and receive Him right now?

Here is how you can receive Christ:
1. Admit your need. I am a sinner, I’ve been running my own life.
2. Be willing to turn from your sin.
3. Trust that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave.
4. Invite Jesus Christ to come into your life and lead you in a new relationship with God. (Receive Him as your Lord and Saviour).

How to pray:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from running my own life, and now I ask You to run it. I invite You to come into my heart and life. I trust and follow You as my Lord and Saviour. In Your Name I pray, Amen.

God’s Assurance: His Word.

If you surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, the Bible says…
For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

The Bible says:
He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:12-13

When we receive Christ, we are forgiven and placed in a new relationship with God as His Child, through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, who now lives in you. This is what the Bible calls being ‘born again.’

This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ.  To grow in your new relationship, you should try to:
1.  Read God’s Book, the Bible, every day.  Start with the gospel of John in the New Testament.

2.  Talk with God through prayer.  Communication is essential to a good relationship.

3.  Join with others who worship, fellowship, and serve Christ in a church that teaches about Jesus.

4.  Live for Christ by letting Him guide your life every day.

5. Tell others about how they can have peace with God.  Pass on what you have learned.

6. As Christ’s representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.

MORE SAMPLE PRAYERS #1:
If you want to assign your soul to Jesus Christ, and to receive Jesus Christ into your heart, and then become a Child of God, you can just say a simple prayer like this:
Dear Jesus, The Saviour of the World, today I come before You and want to make You The Lord and Saviour of my life.  I need You to save Me from all of my sins.  I have been wrong by not serving You earlier.  I am truly sorry for each and every sin, each and every wrong action that I have done in my life.  I ask You for complete forgiveness of all of my sins.  I ask You to completely wash all of my sins away from me, from my name, from my soul by The Precious Blood of The Lamb.  I believe that Jesus Christ died for me on The Cross, and arose from the dead on the third day. I accept what He did for me as complete payment for my sins.  I ask You to please write my name in The Book of Life, so that I can live my eternal life with You in Heaven.  I ask all of this from You, Jesus.  And I thank You for Your free gift of salvation – that You paid in full by shedding all of Your Blood and Your Life for me.   Thank you for forgiving me for all of my sins and for the gift of eternal life with you in Heaven.  Thank You for taking Me into Your Arms and into Your Heart.  I love You ever so much.  Draw me closer to you and help me to live my life now according to your word.  Until we see each other on The Other Side, I’ll always love you and stay faithful to You – even to the end of the age.  I receive your Holy Spirit into my heart today, as your seal that I am now a Child of God.  I love you Jesus and thank You for everything You’ve done for me.  I pray all this in Jesus Name.  Amen.

SAMPLE PRAYER #2:
Here is another example of a prayer you can pray, if you want to assign your soul to Jesus Christ, and to receive Jesus Christ into your heart, and then become a Child of God, you can just say a simple prayer like this:
Dear Jesus Christ, The Saviour of the World – I understand that a long time ago, You lived and walked on the Earth, this Planet Earth; well – You were in Heaven before that – You are Eternal – so You always were – and are and will be – But – you bled and died and shed Your blood by dying for me on the Cross – and all the sins of the whole wide world.  I believe that you arose from the dead on the third day.  I agree that The Father, The Heavenly Father, accepted Your bodily sacrifice, Your death, the shedding and spilling of Your blood, Your innocent, Your truly innocent blood – as full payment for all of my sins – was paid in full on the Cross. So now – I can be scot free – I can be claimed as pure – I am be claimed as righteous – because Your Precious Blood goes before Me and washes My sins away from me – so then I appear before The Father as sinless – so then – I can be granted free access to the Father, The Son, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit – to my rightful place in Heaven.  I was created to live in unity and communion, communication with God – and I’m so sorry that I haven’t lived a good life, that was pleasing to God The Father.  So now – I repent, I say I’m sorry for disobeying You God – and am asking full forgiveness of all my sins.  I claim redemption because of Jesus Sacrifice for Me.  I want to live with You Jesus Christ, in Your Eternal Kingdom.  I become a Child of God when I pray, when I say, repentance, forgiveness asking of mercy from You.  I believe You forgive me in full – and I claim victory for me to live in Heaven with You – in Your Forever Home in Heaven.  Thank you for forgiving me and for giving me the free gift of eternal life with you in Heaven.  Thank you for preparing a Home for me in Heaven.  Thank you for loving me.  Thank you for saving my soul from Hell. Thank you for redeeming me, getting me out of the Pit of Hell, getting me out of the eternal flame of fire – the fire of Hell.  I love you Jesus and am truly sorry for not loving You sooner – not loving you properly.  I thank you that You receive me so easily – I run into your arms because I need You – as my Saviour.  Please help me to live according to your word and draw me closer to you every day.  I turn from my sinful lifestyle and turn to your way, according to your ways.  Thank you Jesus for everything You’ve done for me.  In Jesus name I pray all this – and thank you again for everything that You’ve done for me.  Amen.

CHILDREN NEED SALVATION TOO. 

If they understand the difference between right from wrong, truth from lying, Jesus versus the devil etc, they are accountable for their soul before the Lord.  This can happen as early as 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 years of age.  The younger the better.  Please see post about Salvation for Children – May 28, 2016.

Sample prayers that children may wish to pray.  They can say a repentance prayer – just like anybody else can.  Of course, it will be much shorter. It can be like this:

SAMPLE PRAYER FOR CHILDREN #1:
Dear Jesus, I know I do wrong things.  Please forgive Me for not listening to mommy and daddy, and everybody else.  I am sorry for the sins – for doing wrong things.  I believe you died for me, and paid for my sins.  Please come into my heart today, so that I can go to Heaven when I die, or when you call for Me to go.  I love you Jesus.  Thank you for dying for me and washing my soul clean with your blood.  I pray all this in Jesus Name.  Amen.

SAMPLE PRAYER FOR CHILDREN – FOR THE YOUNGER ONES #2:
Dear Jesus Christ, The Saviour of the world, I believe you are the truth.  I believe you died for me so that I wouldn’t have to go to Hell.  Thank you for washing me clean with your blood and saving me.  I believe you love me and that you are God.  I receive you today.  In Jesus Name I pray.  Amen.
