“I’m Scared”…The Beginning of Wisdom… — Via the Wayfaring Gal (10/8/2023)

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. (Prov 9:10)

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Prov 1:7)

He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great. (Ps 115:13)

Some time after getting my life back on track in the mid-seventies, I came across this song. It appealed to me on a couple of different levels. I was restless, searching for truth and the reason for my being, for my existence here on earth.

Although I believed in God, I wasn’t a Christian at that time; not even close actually. It would be more than twenty years before that happened. Little did I know, the Lord God Almighty was already drawing me in, calling me to His purpose all those years ago.

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44)

I think the words to this song are very profound and fit Scripture amazingly well. Once you make an honest decision to search for the Lord, nothing will stand in your way.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Eph 2:2)

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. (Eph 2:3)

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Phil 2:12)

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Rom 8:28)
