There was a time when multi-player games were about bringing your gamepad to a friend’s house to play for hours. When high speed internet came around and games got online, it became a whole another story. Soon enough you could battle strangers in your favorite games, from anywhere in the world, and it was fantastic. Things did turn sour for a bit when people realized this also meant there was a bit of toxicity around, but the love of gaming and discovering new things quickly prevailed.
