Imposing Shariah Law in London
Imagine one morning waking up, walking out your door and seeing bright yellow posters plastered on the walls and telephone poles throughout your neighborhood that announce that you are now living in a ‘Shariah Controlled Zone.’ That is what is actually happening in several boroughs of London and other communities in the UK… and this could realistically happen in US cities within the next few years if we do not take legal precautions against ‘Shariah Law’ in our states.
Some may think that I am an alarmist. After all, how can one believe that we Americans are as vulnerable as those Brits? That can’t happen in the US. Well, the residents living in neighborhoods like Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets and Newham, all boroughs of London with large Muslim populations, didn’t think so either.
This is more than a call or a march for ‘Sharia Law’ that has happened in recent months. This is a clear attempt to impose‘ Shariah Law’ on the residents of these communities by members of a Muslim organization called ‘Muslims Against the Crusades.’ These British citizens woke up one morning in late July to find those bright yellow posters plastered on their streets alerting everyone that they are entering, or already living in, a ‘Shariah Controlled Zone’; a ‘sinless city’ where drinking, gambling, prostitution, drugs, playing loud music or having concerts is no longer permitted. To make matters more intimidating the non-Muslim residents had better watch out for this group’s band of vigilantes that will soon be on the streets to enforce the ‘Shariah Laws.’
The riots in London and surrounding areas are over-shadowing this story. However, it is these very riots that are symptomatic of the level of civil discontent, lack of individual responsibility, thuggery and disrespect for others that does exist today in some of Britain’s social and economic class-warfare society. The extremes of wealth and poverty, the high levels of unemployment and continued uncertainty, along with the undisciplined nature of many of the rioters is making the UK, along with other European countries, very vulnerable to Islamic intervention.
According to Anjem Choudary, the fast-talking spokesman for ‘Muslims Against the Crusades,’ “Shariah Law is unstoppable in Europe.” He claims that the British society is “broken, riddled with drugs, crime and prostitution” and believes that the British people are ready to “welcome Sharia Law.” His plan is to flood cities in the UK with these ‘Shariah is a Better Society’ flyers and “put the seeds down for an Islamic Emirate in the long term.”
Can this really be happening? Watch the video and come to your own conclusions. Listen to Choudary. Then listen to some of the British reactions to this intimidation, including the News reporter herself. This Muslim group is planning to take their tactics to other European cities in France, Italy and Brussels where the Muslim population has increased to large proportions. This is where fear comes alive and people have to decide to fight or leave.

Islamic beliefs like Choudary’s are now hidden behind peace and love in America’s Islamic communities. As we continue to face economic challenges and similar class warfare, debates on Islamic influence and Shariah Law will also continue to divide and weaken our neighborhoods and push our democracy to its limits. So much truth has been replaced by lies and self-serving politicians. Americans are filled with distrust of their government and the public officials who seem to focus only on their re-election. We as a nation are feeling fearful, a vulnerable atmosphere for any enemy to rise to power. And these enemies are already speaking out as they sense our weakness growing.
After 9/11 Americans became much more aware of the danger of radical Islam and the Jihad against western societies. It has been courageous Americans, in the face of enormous public and political condemnation, who have been fighting for almost a decade against the political correctness of our social and political dialogue as they try to expose the dangers of the anti-democratic ideology of the Koran. They have recently been taking the brunt of politically correct finger-pointing as liberal leaning main stream media attempts to crucify them as the inspiration for Norway’s mass murderer Anders Breivik.
The malicious slander of our outspoken freedom fighters must not be believed. Videos like the one linked here are necessary for the American public to see. Shariah Law has already entered various places of American life: finance, business and the courts. Greater demands are sure to follow.
We are not much different than our British friends. I am hoping that this video will be shocking enough that people will continue to circulate it for more Americans to see what is truly threatening our western society. Stop Shariah from coming to your neighborhood and support others in their fight against Islamic Supremacy.

lol, how much more is the English going to take?, And their government is mostly to blame.
I lived in Walthamstow for the first 22 years of my life, I am now 44. When I lived there, the culture was diverse, and pretty much everybody got along. There were differences which led to trouble, but it was small and infrequent, and sorted quite quickly.
Now this lot turn up, and REALLY think they own the place. They are screwing up all the cultural bridges that have been built over the last 60 to 70 years.
There are many decent Muslim people living in Walthamstow, that probably want nothing to do with these extremists, but because of them, all Muslims will become targets for this blatant attempt at social unrest. I have seen these idiots on one of there protest marches, they spew vile anti British retoric until they are horse. There marches always coincide with another far right group called The EDL. These people are pro British, and they have had enough of these idiots. They are always kept apart by a very large Police presence, but when the skirmishes do break out, it is the Muslim extremists that have mostly run for cover. But there numbers are growing, so tell me, what happens when they start standing their ground? If you think the recent riots in England were bad, they will have been like kids in a playground, if this lot kick off.
They are not saying it, but their intention IS to start a race war. Many people in Britain know this, and there extremist groups are spread far and wide.
The British Govt has not a clue what is going on at street level, and the tension is just getting bigger and bigger. If the Govt doesnt deal with this soon, people Will start taking the law into there own hands. Do they not see that THIS is what THEY are trying to do RIGHT NOW!
Keep watching the news, this could get messy.

Until not long ago, most of us had hardly heard about cases of familial violence within ultra-Orthodox society, so the recent media reports have come as something of a shock. It may be hard to imagine such things happening in any family, let alone among those whose lives are led in such close observance of Jewish law. It would be a mistake, however, to lump all the recent cases in the same category. There is, in fact, little to link violence that appears to be motivated by a religious authority, and sexual violence and incest that are committed by ultra-Orthodox Jews.
The first phenomenon, in which cult-like leaders have been reported to have gathered around them small groups of followers, who, in obedience to a religious doctrine set out by those leaders, have tortured their children, can be attributed to the perverse direction religion and religious authorities can sometimes take. It is a chilling reminder of how religion can sometimes overcome our moral will and become the motivation for immoral acts.
Much more common, however, is the phenomenon of religious people being involved in incest and sexual abuse. In fact, such acts have nothing to do with the religious identity of the perpetrator. Ongoing research into domestic sexual abuse demonstrates the near-impossibility of predicting whether someone is at risk of becoming either a victim or a predator. On the contrary, from studies, and from the calls received at various telephone hotlines, we know that violators are as likely to be from families of means as from a working-class background; can range from religiously secular to Haredi; and are both Ashkenazi and Mizrahi. The numbers pretty much correlate to the general ethnic and social breakdown in society.
The message, then, is that not only is each one of us at risk of becoming a victim, but also that any one of us has the potential to be a perpetrator. That perhaps is the hardest thing to digest – and that might be where the main problem lies. For, to contend properly with this problem as a society, we must acknowledge that sex crimes happen here, among us – whoever that “us” might be. The numbers are shocking: One out of six to seven males and one out of three females will be a victim at some point during their lives. It can be a colleague from work, a neighbor, one of our children, or us.
In the last weekly Torah portion we read, Aharei Mot, as well as next week’s (Kedoshim), we encounter a list of restrictions on sexual behavior (Leviticus 18, 20), the same list that is read in synagogue on Yom Kippur, and which was presented by Moses to the Children of Israel just after the dedication of the Tabernacle. The list serves to remind us that we can’t hide from this issue, that we can’t argue that it is not relevant to us.
From the picture being drawn, it is clear, too, that sexual abuse has nothing to do with the victim’s behavior or character: He or she can be young or old, attractive or less so, dressed provocatively or modestly. Most incidents occur in the home of either the victim or the abuser, and in most cases the attacker is known to the victim. It becomes clear, then, that no place is safe from sexual abuse.
Sounds ominous, no? I would suggest, however, that resolving never again to let your kids out of your sight would be the wrong conclusion to draw. The fact that sexual abuse can happen to anyone, anywhere, is underlined by the Talmudic notion that everyone is subject to the temptation to become an abuser (“ein apotropus le’arayot”). Accepting this reality is a necessary step to being able to talk about it.
We must also become more attentive to those who may have endured sexual abuse. Once we open our ears, we enable the victims to share their secrets, so those secrets will stop eating them up from inside. When a story of abuse is told, we should believe it, and provide the victim with understanding, and remember that he or she did not do anything wrong.
Last week, on this page, Roni Singer-Heruti lamented the way our society relates to female perpetrators more harshly than those who are male. She was right, but I wish for the day when men who have been the victims of sexual abuse will be as willing to speak up like their female counterparts. If women today are more easily able to share their secrets, in the understanding that people will believe them, it is in large part due to 30 years of hard work by women’s organizations.
The message of reading the section on sexual sins during the holiest day of the Hebrew calendar should be clear: We can talk about sexual abuse and we can listen. If you wish to make the setting where you teach or work a safe place for victims of sexual abuse, volunteers from the rape-crisis and other centers have been trained to help. Their support is not mean to invite a discourse on things that never happened, but rather to help create a safe environment in which people who suffer in silence speak out. You can learn more about the topic by calling the hotline for abused women (dial 1202) or for men (1203). And of course we are always looking for more volunteers.

They’re exterminating the goyim world wide, and the violence spills over into every aspect of their lives.

Opinion: Shout down the Sharia myth makers
Sharia is being misused in certain parts of the world, but that certainly doesn’t apply to America, where concerns about a ‘creeping Sharia law’ are the stuff of pure paranoia

NEW YORK (JTA) — The threat of the infiltration of Sharia, or Islamic law, into the American court system is one of the more pernicious conspiracy theories to gain traction in our country in recent years. The notion that Islam is insidiously making inroads in the United States through the application of religious law is seeping into the mainstream, with even some presidential candidates voicing fears about the supposed threat of Sharia to our way of life and as many as 13 states considering or having already passed bills that would prohibit the application of Sharia law.

Louisiana and Tennessee were among the first to approve such measures. The bills were based on model legislation issued by the American Public Policy Alliance, an unabashedly anti-Muslim advocacy group that defends the legislation as seeking to “protect American citizens’ constitutional rights against the infiltration and incursion of foreign laws and foreign legal doctrines, especially Islamic Sharia Law.”
When the legislation was introduced in the Tennessee state Senate in early 2010, the bill defined Sharia as a “legal political military doctrine and system adhered to, or minimally advocated by, tens of millions of not hundreds of millions of its followers around the world.” In defense of the bill, state Sen. Bill Ketron said it “deals solely with a single part of Sharia that is strictly political in nature,” and “in no way inserts itself into the religious laws of Islam.”
The language was nearly identical to that of similar bills considered in other states, some of which were thinly disguised in terms of protecting against “the application of foreign law.”
All of this anti-Sharia activity has come despite the complete absence of evidence of the unconstitutional application of foreign or religious law in our judicial system. It has also come with a great deal of political handwringing — and myth making — about the threat of Sharia overtaking this country. This has led, in turn, to a false perception among a growing number of Americans that Sharia is a very real threat to our way of life and constitutional freedoms.
In fact, these legislative efforts are the proverbial solution in search of a problem. The separation of church and state embodied in U.S. and state constitutions prohibits our courts from applying or considering religious law in any way that would constitute government advancement of or entanglement with religious law.
But the anti-Sharia bills are more than a matter of unnecessary public policy. These measures are, at their core, predicated on prejudice and ignorance. They constitute a form of camouflaged bigotry that enables their proponents to advance an idea that finds fault with the Muslim faith and paints all Muslim Americans as foreigners and anti-American crusaders.
It is true that Sharia is being used elsewhere around the world in dangerous ways. While Sharia law can address many daily public and private concerns, it is nonetheless subject to radical interpretation by individuals or groups who subscribe to a more puritanical form of Islamic jurisprudence. Some individuals try to interpret Sharia law for their own radical agendas. It raises more serious concerns when it comes to implementing Sharia law in its entirety, as can be seen with the examples of Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Taliban. But that certainly doesn’t apply to America, where concerns about a “creeping Sharia law” are the stuff of pure paranoia.
If the hysteria over Sharia law continues to percolate through our political and social discourse, there is bound to be unintended consequences.
As we approach the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, in an uncertain economy with millions of Americans still out of work, we also face the prospect of a political season in which more political candidates may be tempted to invoke this mythological threat in an effort to pander to bigotry and fear, and to score political points.
We stand at a crossroads in American society. We have the option of heading down a path toward a greater tolerance of anti-Muslim xenophobia and fear of the “stranger in our midst,” or we can rededicate ourselves to the ideal of an America that is open and welcoming to immigrants as well as minority groups who have been here for decades. Let us hope that the better nature of America will enable us to proceed down the second path and reject those who seek to divide us for political gain, or those who wish to stereotype and scapegoat an entire people because of their religious faith.
We should never diminish the very real threat of terrorism motivated by Islamist fundamentalism coming again to our shores. But as responsible, free-thinking Americans we must be careful to distinguish between the true threats to our freedoms, and identifying their sources, and those who loudly declaim against phantom threats that don’t really exist.
