The Spin Goes On

The ongoing public relations dance between Israel and its enemies, Hezbollah (the Lebanese terror organization, aka Lebanese Militia), Syria and Iran, reaches a new level of disbelief. On Saturday we hear Syria’s Foreign Minister Walid Moallem “spin” the story of Scud Missiles being transferred to Hezbollah by pointing a finger at the US. He accuses the US of supplying weapons to Israel which are the real cause of destabilizing the region, not Syrian missiles. He continues to say these allegations are false and makes reference to Washington’s false pre-war claims that Saddam Hussein had obtained weapons of mass destruction. 

These statements are then followed by comments from Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah that his militia have a “legal and humanitarian” right to amass weapons in order to protect those “oppressed and threatened by Israel,” as reported on Israel Radio. But Nasrallah never comments one way or another on the truth of these claims. It has been reported earlier that Egypt’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit has said that there is already “complete panic” in the streets of Lebanon with the rumor of an Israeli attack and another possible war. With this in mind, Nasrallah tried t o give a calming message: “The atmosphere at this time is not an atmosphere of war.” He believes that these missile allegations may have started a heated dialogue, but he does not believe it is a road to war. 

One must ask when listening to these “threatening words” (Link: beforeitsnews.com/news/38578/Threatening_Words.html) which people are really being threatened in the Middle East and why they have the right to defend themselves? No matter how the enemies of Israel cry about the Palestinians and their rights t o a state, they are only using these people as their pawns (and fodder) to rally Muslims around the world against the Jewish state. History already shows that the Palestinians have a state, and it is called Jordan.

Israel is the tiny size of New Jersey, surrounded by much larger nations that have been taught by the Koran to hate Jews and do not want a Jewish state to exist at all. Now, add to the mix the reality that Iran’s President wants to “wipe Israel off the face of the map” and he will not be stopped from developing (and transferring) a nuclear missile, armed with a biological weapon. I ask you: Who is being threatened by another “holocaust”? And who wants to do the annihilating? 

But, this rhetoric is further enflaming as we are about to see the arrogance of the events that are being planned in the United Nations beginning this Monday, Israel bashing! I find it astounding that The Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), which takes place every five years, will not speak of Iran’s growing ability to build nuclear weapons production. Ironically, the top of the UN’s agenda will be “discussion” of Israel’s nuclear program. What could easily happen is that Egypt and its partners in the Arab League and Muslim world will turn this into a month of Israel bashing and Iran will have successfully danced their way into the public hearts of the Muslim world. If the US allows this to happen, I must say that I for one will be ashamed of our Administration’s lack of courage and fearful of the results.
