Mayor Bloomberg has it Wrong

America is still the place for people to come who seek freedom from religious oppression and the opportunity to live a better life. The Arabs and Muslims that come here to get away from tyrannical rulers and cruel religious laws do find that they are supported by Americans. Whether they want to practice their faith here in Mosques or convert to another faith, they are able to do so freely. With this in mind, Michael Goodwin correctly states that Arabs and Muslims enjoy more freedom in America than any Islamic country…and the burden to prove otherwise is in their hands. The historic symbolism of the name ‘Cordoba House,’ which is being changed because of this very symbolism, is just the beginning of the true meaning and purpose of this mosque. History shows that Islamic conquests are projected to its people and people around the world, by constructing a Mosque over the destruction of a conquered people. Americans need to understand what this symbol will do for our citizens’ morale, and our global relationships. And, as the project gathers momentum it becomes more of an offense when they do not want to disclose the source of the $4.85 millions cash paid for the site or where the $100-$150 million to construct this 13-story center will come from. There is already some information about the money trail that connects this group to the “Free Gaza” Mavi Maramar flotilla that tried to break the Gaza blockade. However, there appears to be political games in the way of this investigation by some people, including an Obama adviser. (Obama adviser: U.S. ‘ideal place for renewal of Islam’) As much as Mayor Bloomberg is passionate on defending this mosque, he still needs to have the money trail investigated or he may find himself defending a group and mosque at Ground Zero that supports terror.   

 

It does appear that if the Landmark Preservation Council does not approve the site’s landmark status, this would be in spite of the many reasons it should, then ‘political correctness’ will reach a level of grave national security. And, if Mayor Bloomberg and the Landmark Council do not come to their senses quickly this mosque could be opened on the planned date of September 11, 2011, the ten-year memorial anniversary of 9/11! New Yorkers need this Iman and his group to reconsider who should be ‘politically correct’ when it comes to this location. Wouldn’t that be something for these foolish American leaders and New Yorkers to have as part of their legacy. God help America.
