6 Horrible Consequences of Earth Losing its Magnetic Field – There is so much about the Earth that we undervalue in our daily lives. Though human civilization has spread to every region of the world, our existence still depends on the alignment of natural phenomena that are beyond our control.

I am currently living in Barrow, AK. The city that is farthest North of all U.S. cities. For months I hadn’t seen insects, birds, or any wildlife. It is usually below zero and the wind chill makes it much colder. I was outside the other day and saw a crow flying over my head. It was -20 with a wind chill of around -40. I don’t know where that bird came from, or how he was surviving here in the middle of Winter, but your mention of the waning magnetic field and bird navigation makes me think it had something to do with it.
