Discussion:  Thunderstorms that formed over the Dallas / Fort Worth, TX areas this morning have diminished.  The need for a severe thunderstorm watch there due to this was not needed, and most of the activity later today into tonight will be east of that area.  So if you are there, do feel this event is over with for you.  You escaped it …

As for further east, the cold front is expected to develop supercells across Eastern OK and Northeast TX later on … and with activity forming ahead of the main cold front being probable across AR, this state is where the most severe storms will be … and in fact most of the state will be seeing severe thunderstorms, stretching down into Northern LA …

Both storm mode and directional shear is what prompted this watch, in addition to strong southeasterly winds in the low levels across the Central/Southern half of the state … feel that strong tornado potential exists with the event today/tonight …
