NOW: First Snow Starts In East-Central United States

Snowfall has begun with a cold-front moving down through Michigan. Latest radar image as of 8:50am shows the rain/snow line across Chicago, extending up to Michigan.

Chicago – Convective snow showers possible, with thundersnow in them today.

Indiana and Ohio – Snow showers possible for Indiana into Western Ohio, with thundersnow possible.

Kentucky – Eastern KY snow later.

Tennessee – Eastern TN snow later, mainly higher elevations.

West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina – Heavy snowfall in the mountains likely. Could see a foot of snow in spots in the west.

Additional posts will be made this afternoon showing predicted snowfall amounts for all areas, but the heaviest will be in the mountains of WV, VA, NC, and TN.
