Winter Storm Carolyn; Category Two To Strike Eastern United States on Wednesday

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Winter Storm Carolyn is the third storm system on our list and she will strike the Eastern United States on Wednesday, a day before Thanksgiving, disrupting travel plans across a wide area.  She is predicted to be a category two storm for the New England and Northeastern United States, with heavy snow and near blizzard conditions.  Continue reading for details …

Severe weather is striking Florida today and our Severe Weather Advisory product took care of that nicely, owning to a tornado and severe thunderstorm warning within the boxed area so it seems that forecast is going well.  Using the track of those storms we can predict tomorrow’s weather with better accuracy.  The snow-belt will be from Western North Carolina (mountains mainly into TN/KY to around Central VA.  There will not be any snow in Richmond, Virginia Beach, the NC Piedmont, or any other area of Eastern NC to Eastern MD and most of DE.  Of course that heavy rainfall will spread up through, splitting Long Island in half with rain on the east side and snow for the western sections.  It also will be raining at Cape Cod and the southern half of Nova Scotia, where most of the major cities area.

The snow amounts through Wednesday will be fierce across the Eastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeast NY, Central/North CT, Central/West MA, Southern NH, and Southern ME.  The totals in our forecast is listed on the image contained within this article.

Washington D.C. – 5-10″
New York City – 5-10″
Boston, MA – 2-5″ coast – 5-10″ inland median 5-7″
Portland, ME – 10-15″

You’ll almost note the band of snowfall at the center of MA, marking the 15 inch or higher mark on the forecast.

Blizzard conditions will be possible for the Southern New England areas up through the Coast of Maine.  TriforceWeather.com will be issuing heavy snow products this evening for certain areas and if need be the Blizzard advisory products.  Other than that … that is the forecast.
