A major winter storm is slated to hit the Southern/Southeast United States on Wednesday, moving into the Carolinas finally by Wednesday evening/night. This system is a potent storm that brought a tornado to Southern California yesterday, which signals that it indeed has some punch to it.
The heaviest snowfall will be across Southeast AR, Northern Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi, spreading into Western and Northeast North Carolina to Northwest South Carolina as well.
Starting Wednesday, it looks like Dallas will get a dusting of snowfall with some ice mixed in as well. Dallas escaped the heaviest snowfall amounts it looks like.
Ice Storm products will be needed for parts of Louisiana, Central Mississippi (including Jackson) and into Western Alabama. The projections here shows thunderstorms (some severe) for the deep south near the Gulf Coast into Florida on the south end of the squall that will form. Very heavy rainfall as a result looks likely.

Ice will also hit where ice is hitting today, Northeast SC into Southern NC, where you’ll escape the heavier snowfall, which will hit the Northeast State back into the Piedmont. Almost all major cities of North Carolina will have heavy snowfall.
The heavy snowfall mark will continue through Southeast Virginia as well, so Virginia Beach you look to have a high risk snow event.
