Rare Tornado Watch Issued For California

THE NATIONAL WEATHER FORCE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH EFFECTIVE FOR PARTS OF;

* All Central and Northern California Coast and Valley Zones …

* Effective all of today and tonight for some areas …

If tornado warnings are issued, follow the instructions they give.  This event is not being predicted elsewhere so if you are out, keep an eye on the sky and report.  As it happens you will see why NationalWeatherForce.com is fast becoming the choice of the public for weather alerts for rare events.

A very strong storm system, stronger than the last, will come into the area starting this morning across the San Francisco Bay areas.  This strataform frontal zone event will be rain with isolated thunderstorms, however as the front passes and cold air aloft filters in, the daytime heating behind the initial front will will bring a secondary front through the area over the day and this one will bring the stronger tornado dynamics across a large part of the forecast area.

Since we are seeing a backing southeast flow in the area, with south to north across the coast and southeast to northwest across the valleys, the center of the tornado dynamics for shear/instability/lift combo will be the entire San Joaquin Valley from Fresno at the southern end and Redding at the northern end along the I-5 Corridor.  This valley will be the area of most focus today and tonight.

As for the coast, tornado dynamics do extend through the Monterey/San Francisco Bay areas so don’t let your guard down either, up through at least south of Crescent City.
