They were not to know but it would only last for three days, after which the earth was cleansed, the rabble once roused, now defeated resoundingly in the break of dawn.
The ensuing quiet gave way to rejoicing.
Those that remained sensed the end of the nightmare, which began long before the ensuing darkness. It was a darkness to end all darkness, and they had been spared in and by their own Ark, so to speak.
They began to thank God and joined together fluidly in praise and worship.
The USA and Israel were no longer there.
They disappeared with the darkness, and in their place oceans rise over the land in a cleansing motion, sparing the high mountains of the USA.
The world was felt to rest. This was felt by all who remained, whatever lights they were given, they felt physically, this immense rest, as though the earth was breathing a sigh of relief.
The mountain people breathed a sign of relief too, grateful the water never reached them.
