The speaker will dwell on important questions facing those paying and reporting IRS, such as how Independent Contractors can avoid the IRS CP-2100 (B-Notices), should a W-9 be claimed even if a vendor claims exemption, best practices in IRS reporting, ways of minimizing risk of improper exemption claims by vendors, and so on. The lessons learnt at this session will help participants prevent the risk of huge penalties from the IRS.
The speaker will also talk about the rules requiring W-9 documentation and 1099 reporting. He will teach participants ways by which to establish the independent contractor relationship using the right documentation. He will also help them understand the rules for keeping organizations in compliance by ensuring that their records stand the scrutiny of an IRS 3rd Party Documentation and Reporting audit.
