Invitation to the Big Party at Gaia’s House

The people at Gaia’s House have issued an invitation. Come one, come all. All are welcome.

Don’t bring a thing. Everything’s laid on.

The caterers have come from the far corners of the world – and beyond.  I see they’ve cleaned up the neighborhood, provided the transportation, and laid on a banquet.

They’ve sent the invites out to everybody. Be there or be square.

It’s kind of like a Greek Day, Middle East Day, Far East Day, Africa Day, all rolled into one.  They tell us they know we’ll enjoy it. Those who come late, those who want take-out, those who need baby-sitting – all no problem at all.

They tell us it’s a party like no other. Some people are whispering that it isn’t a party at all. But no one is listening. They’ll always whisper.

Christmas, New Years Eve, Fourth of July – we’ve never had a party like this one. I’m so tired from the little I’ve done that I haven’t had time to do the laundry, take out the trash, or grab a bite along the way.  All is rush, rush, rush, get the lights up and sweep the floor.

Family’s coming. Neighbors are invited. Can’t think of another thing to do. They’ve thought of everything.

Must run out and get the cake. Then we’re ready. Are we there yet?
