Explosions BEFORE plane impact: the 9/11 account of William Rodriguez

It’s something you won’t hear about in the mainstream media. A loud, devastating explosion in the sub-basement of the World Trade Center’s North Tower BEFORE the impact of an airplane that hit between the 93^rd and 99^th floors.

That was the account of William Rodriguez, who was a 20-year employee of the World Trade Center until the towers were destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001. He was later hailed as a national hero for pulling people out of the buildings, saving a number of lives that morning. He was believed to be the last person to escape the North Tower before it fell. He was even photographed with President George W. Bush. Now, the government doesn’t want to hear anything he has to say.

No matter how well known he is within the 9/11 Truth movement (in fact he’s one of its best known figures), very few others have heard the things he has to say – things that make the purveyors of the official story very nervous.

That’s because if what he reports is true, then the official story can’t be. That official version contends that airplane impacts and the resulting fires were solely responsible for the collapse of the twin towers. But if his account of explosions in the basement of the North Tower is true, then there must be a great deal more to the story.

In the documentary 9/11 Mysteries, Rodriguez describes what happened while he was in the building’s sub-basement, level B1: “All of the sudden, we heard a huge explosion. It was an explosion that came from under my feet, meaning that it came from the sub levels between B2 and B3.”

Rodriguez adds that after the basement explosion, he heard the impact of the impact that has been reported to be Flight 11 hitting the North Tower. “And there was a huge explosion at the top of the building. You could hear the difference from the bottom and all the way to the top. The one from the top, which was actually seconds after, was very far away. The one in the basement was pretty loud and you felt your actual feet moving with the floor. There was a tremor through the walls, that the walls cracked and the false ceiling totally collapsed.”

Rodriguez says he then saw fellow WTC employee Felipe David who had been burned in the explosion. Clearly David’s injuries did not come from a crash near the top of the 110-storey building. And this account has been substantiated by numerous other witnesses who were in the basements that day. Mr. David’s injuries have been documented; they certainly weren’t imaginary.

Rodriguez has become part of the Truth movement, speaking at symposiums and conferences frequently in recent years. No one has ever been able to question the reliability of his account of what happened that day. No one has been able to question his motives. All those in positions of power have been able to do is pretend he doesn’t exist.

That’s what happened with the 9/11 Commission, and it has worked for the mainstream media. Rodriguez recounted what he saw to the Commission behind closed doors, but his account was kept out of the final report. They didn’t even mention that they’d spoken to him.

“My testimony was very upsetting for the Commission,” he said in the documentary 9/11 Ripple Effect. “

He says he originally told the FBI about what he saw and heard, and he did nothing more for two and a half years, assuming that an investigation was under way. But there wasn’t.

“I realized it was just not going anywhere.”

Rodriguez did no better with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which “investigated” the reasons for the collapse of the twin towers and Building 7. He says he got no response when at a public NIST hearing he questioned whether any of his statements had been taken into consideration by them.

And that’s not all Rodriguez had to say about the events of 9/11. He also reported numerous other explosions in the building, far from the impact zone, as he was pulling people out. In this, he has dozens and dozens of others who back him up. These accounts include explosions in different basement levels as well as on various floors above ground. I’ll get into the individual accounts in a future post.

Rodriguez, who was a custodian in the Trade Center, has also talked about hearing noises on empty floors in the towers in the weeks leading up to 9/11. He mentions the 34^th as being an empty floor where he heard loud construction work going on. He says there was also a great deal of dust that appeared to come from this mysterious work.

And perhaps the most intriguing thing reported by Rodriguez is that he claims to have seen one of the alleged hijackers in the World Trade Center in June of 2001, three months before the attacks.

He says he saw photos of the alleged hijackers in the newspapers and recognized Mohand al-Shehri as having been in the World Trade Center in June of 2001. Al-Shehri is alleged to have been one of the hijackers of Flight 175, which is alleged to have hit the South Tower. Rodriguez says al-Shehri showed a special interest in the buildings before the attacks, asking Rodriguez about the number of public washrooms on a particular floor.

It has since been confirmed by the Saudi embassy in Washington and the Saudi Foreign Minister (as reported in The Hidden History of 9-11, edited by Paul Zarembka, page 160) that Mohand al-Shehri is was alive and well in Saudi Arabia after the attacks.
