Common Sense Preparedness Radio (21st Century American Patriot)

On September 11, 2012 I had the opportunity to participate in 911 Ceremonies in the New York Area and I must admit it was a real eye opener. For those who know me, I come from that area, my father help build the Word Trade Centers, My brother and some of my close friends responded to the attack and were on the “pile” for weeks and a few even never came home that day. I had the opportunity to talk with people who were there and I was even able to work out some interviews for some upcoming shows.

They all called me a “hero” for doing all I have done since 911. I do not consider myself a hero, I do try and uphold my patriotic duty.  You see I answered a call from my country, when she was in need of her people to stand up together and fight this enemy called terrorism. I am not speaking about flaying my flag or even joining the military, I actually received a phone call from the United States government requesting that I come back to the Justice Department to help form and become a founding member of the US Department of Homeland Security. This was because of my prior service experience and being formally employed by the Justice Department, I answered that call from my government and did my best to help the United States it her time of need. For this they call me a hero. Well looking at these people and those that have influenced me in my life, I began to wonder who and what a real American Patriot is. Something that we all can talk about and begin to form a kind of standard to hold ourselves to. It is to simple to say a patriot is one who served in the military, granted they are all patriots in my book, but so is their mothers and fathers, so is the Border Patrol Agent on the front line every day, or the policeman who is tracking down terror cells in his community, or the firefighter who carries that child from a burning building. What about that diplomat who was killed that day, making the ultimate sacrifice for his country?
