Melissa Harris Perry compared the terrorists in GITMO to American slaves. How in the world can she think that inprisonment of the very people who for 1400 years and still enslave Africans today compare to slavery? One is much deserved and the other was just wrong. Tsk Tsk Tsk

“This is the time to reaffirm our Americanness,” said Harris-Perry. “I also appreciate that the hunger strikers are not trying to die. They’re trying to generate autonomy in the context of something that strips their humanity–something we certainly know about from the experience of American slavery. And that the language of before I would be a slave, I’d be buried in my grave and go home to my Lord and be free. Just that idea of creating human freedom within the context of horrible human conditions.”

And how old is this woman anyway? She talks about knowing about slavery. If there is anything that the liberals are good at, it is screaming racist and throwing slavery into the mix. It’s getting old.

Sahih Muslim Book 10 Number 3901 Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported: There came a slave and pledg- ed allegiance to Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) on migration; he (the Holy Prophet) did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Sell him to me. And he bought him for two black slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man).
